For all of those that liked Sam Skinner; you can cross him off your wishlist. Going to Port as a delisted FA.

Adams is always taking kicks during games. Therefore his kicking is a strength.

This is fun. Who can come up with some other stupid statements?
I still maintain he'd be a good forward if given the chance.

Liked him as an option.

But when you’ve got Magden, Murphy, Wilson, Kelly, Keane...

who needs a 195cm 97kg intercept marker? 🤣

Every year that goes by that list of names is getting worse and worse to the eye.

3 of them are slow pokes (Madge, Murphy and wilson), 2 injury prone (Kelly, Murphy) and a 3rd who has been given a baptism of fire and looked shaky (Keane).

Add in Roughead and Howes age... and it’s really only Moore that’s the guaranteed intercept marker down back over the next 3-5 years.

They really need to pull their finger out and break in some further talent

2 talls have been picked up in the delisted free agengy period.
Skinner would have been a good option down back as he is a very good intercept mark.
Someone has to be primed to take over from Roughy.
Hope GW has something in mind.

Not sure its a worry. He is very ruckman like in his marking. Rucks these days are not major marking targets as a rule.

Looking at his stats compared to Gawn, Goldy, Ryder and Witts, I chose those 4 as the best comparisons. Gawn as expected best 4.4 marks per game and 2.0 contested. Grundy 3.6 and 0.9 career wise. Ryder and Goldy similar numbers to Grudy and Witts a bit behind. His marking isnt a weapon but it isnt a worry.
The issue for me is the ones he should take but just drops or gets out marked.

That’s almost every ruckman. There are no Gary Dempseys anymore

Who are we getting next year
Next year will see the club rid themselves of the burden of Jordan de Goey's salary and indeed the man himself, gain a few top draft picks and work on gaining a FA. A few fringe sorts like Lippa would be a handy addition. There should also be a few noteable retirements such as Sidey and indeed Roughead. So a defender and a few midfielders would be helpful.

In addition to this, there are several players walking with delisting targets on their backs. Players such as Nathan Murphy, both Brown bros, Madgen, Chugg and Cox.

”A few top draft picks” Does that mean Moore and Maynard are leaving?

No but others might. I would imagine Wrighty is working on a draft re-stock next year. Thinking three in the Top 25-30. We could achieve that via a JDG compo/other, a trade of some description.

Interesting - seems like Noble won't be promoted yet.

If he was promoted now, wouldn't we only have 5 senior list spots open prior to the draft?

You'd think we'll draft Daicos + 2 others, then promote Noble to make it 36 seniors. Then rookie draft Chugg + one other to make it 5 Cat A rookies, leaving one spot for the 2022 mid-season draft.

Cats just picked up Tyson Stengle.

Steele Sidebottom averages over 5. Raw marks numbers are often about outrunning your opponent rather than being about good in a marking contest. Grundy is our go to long down the line option and is thus in a lot of marking contests, yet averages less than 1 contested Mark a game. He's not a good mark, but does provide a good contest.
