I'd expect pick 18 or a future first.

I think it's probably an easy trade to be fair unless we're trying to drive a harder bargain.

His value certainly hasn't been compromised this last 2 seasons. Has shown loads of potential.
We'll already have pick 18, or are you factoring in compo picks?

Their forward stocks are tried tested and diabolical.
Mitch Brown, Ben Brown, Weidmann. Etc
Their forward line has been found out for the past 3 months, not just finals.

also he did a lovely tap on the ground in the forward line at the start of the 3rd to hipwood, who should have got the goal
hes a smart footballer and we have a lot of smart footballers in our fwd line. they will combine well
He's a no fuss footballer that just gets around and gets his job done, good pick up for us

the other thing people overlook about mcstay is that not only is he big, but he is mobile and fit enough to lay fwd tackles too
tom lynch, daniher, tomahawk, curnow, mckay - barely lay a tackle.
but at pies mcstay will lay tackles
id be terrified if i was defender and i knew i could be tackled by him or mcreery at any moment

Frampton might well have had some growing up to do but at 25 is now matured and finally starting to blossom.

As a defensive prospect he appears to have some skills you can work with and given the likely very low cost I don't really see any downside on us taking a chance.

Might prove to be a very smart piece of talent identification and given the evidence we've seen so far of our new coaching panel I'm not willing to bet against them extracting more out of him.

Watching the game last night; Grundy is not the answer to their problems.

Also.

Gawn, a forward he is not.
They were hoping that Weideman would become ‘The Weeeeeeeeeed!’
Hasn’t happened…doesn’t look like happening.
Brown can’t hold his marks anymore.
Surprised they didn’t go after McStay.

Yeah, we talk about how we havent drafted a key forward since Cloke. But they havent seen Weid? Its clearly whats lacking.

I actually think Cekkers form has been iffy this year. The one thing that he has been consistent with has been goals from 15 or closer. He's been missing set shots consistently, and burned team mates panicking last week too.

Last night Mcstay had at least 3 direct goal assist through kicks and tackles, and despite a shakey start showed what he can do. Our forward line will be better for both, and I don't think a bit of pressure for Cekkers would be bad.

If Grundy goes I can't see us getting more than a 1st round pick for him, with maybe some haggling for a future 2nd thrown in.
If Henry goes I'd hope the club targets a future 1st for him so we can hit next year's draft hard.
McStay at the reported 5 years for $650,000 is good value. If we, hopefully, play him close to goal while having him assist with ruck duties he'll be very good both from a team structure point of view and his individual performance.
Frampton is a smart get. Low cost with possibly high reward. At worst quality backup player, which every team needs.
Ian Hill, who's the one I'm most excited to see in a Pies jumper, could be the pick off the lot. Electrifying speed and sublime skills. Hill combined with Ginni, Elliott and McCreery would make for some serious fire power and forward defensive strength. Add to that Checkers and McStay and that's a pretty decent forward line. His trade value is interesting given he's missed a lot of football but has undeniable talent. I think it'll end up costing a late 1st round pick.
Mitchell, if we get him, would be the added clearance player we've needed for some time that would help take the physical pressure off Tay and help him stay on the field more. Tay and Mitchell in the centre together means we won't lose many clearance battles in the future. The only issue would be trade cost and player cost. If the report 3rd round pick is correct or even a future 2nd round pick i'd consider that a bargain and a no brainer. As for the contract if the Hawks are willing to stump for part of his last year and he'll agree to a lower cost extension, probably In the 2-3 year range, then again a no brainer.
Fiorini is a hard player to gauge. He can run very hot and very cold. As of yet he hasn't found that ability to play a bad average game. Still young enough and talented enough to be a very good player just needs to find consistency in his game to game play. Coming to Collingwood and having players like Pendles and Tay around him to mentor him with that would likely help. The biggest problem is I don't see how we get both Fiorini AND Mitchell within our salary cap, it seems from the outside looking in that it'd be one or the other and likely depend on requested trade capital.
Anyway my 2 cents. It's been one of the most enjoyable years I can remember as a Pies supporter and we're not finished yet this year, and with the way this years trade period is shaping up the trade period will be as exciting and next year just as enjoyable as this year.

They weren't that bad off really. Adelaide turned the Gunston pick (24) into Jenkins and Kerridge, who were both serviceable players. Surprisingly, despite playing well in one of the greatest sides in the modern era, Gunston has only had one AA selection (2018) and his one B and F win was when they finished 15th.

Imo he (Gunston) is very overrated on here, often talked up by pies fans as a messiah amoung forwards. Imo he is just a solid to good player who played in an amazing team and structure.
