Do you reckon he stops coaching when he does a press conference? He's encouraging his player in a public forum. A real sign of how much Mcrae rates him would be by actually picking him.
I do think Macrae would be rated by the coach but also I do think coaches do say stuff. I am sure if Callum Brown was still playing for us, McRae would say the same thing. Agreed that he in encouraging a player in a public forum but he is not picking him. Coaches and the club, I think pull wool over our eyes when they say "could debut early" or "player for the future".

I kind of see Macrae similar to Tsatas both put up great numbers but get pushed off the ball too easy. I know its been four years on a list but Macrae still needs some size IMO. I hope he gets to the James Rowbottom level of midfielder.

So youre calling him a liar? I would have thought Fly has proven he's as honest as the day is long. A lot of posters backpedalling now because they think Finn isn't worth much when quite clearly the club rates him and as the coach has said they're trying to get him into the side. And now we have the bizarre psychology of wanted him to fail just to prove their misguided hypothesis, hope he sticks it right up them. As for the Paddy Dow stuff, don't do drugs kids!

I'd love McCluggage but you can't be paying him potentially more than Nick Daicos.

And I'll just post this every week now; take Haynes for 2 years as an UFA now that Murphy is gone. Perfect stop gap until TJ is ready.
Why does pay compared to others matter?

32 yo in couple weeks and heavily battle scarred ..would give him a wide berth and develop AJ as a 3rd tall intercept defender as they're now trying to do.

Would love Haynes if he can reach form of 2 years ago. I really rate TJ just need time for him to develop and mature. Haynes the perfect stop gap.

Really every line has issues.

Inside mid.

KPF

3rd in medium def.

Genuine upcoming ruck.

Running hbf to release Nick and replace Crisps drive long term.
I think midfield and key positions is what we should focus on. I think Demattia and TJ will come along nicely soon. Not super worried about KPF when McStay returns.

McCluggage & Taylor would be unbelievable gets - even just one would be huge. Smith would be very good too. 2/3 of those and we're laughing. There are older guys too (Yeo, Haynes), but unsure about their bodies holding up.

Yeo has looked pretty good this year

You reckon a new GP earning more than the CEO would sit well with a specialist?
... what? Do you think Nick is upset that he earns less than other Magpies? He's also in his 3rd year - at the end of his current deal, I fully anticipate we sign him to GAJ-level wages.

Inside mid - several waiting for opportunities - our gun midfield has starved them of opportunities.
KPF - what’s wrong with McStay
3rd defender- Eyre, Dean
Ruck - Steene is very promising
Runner - why are you writing off DeMattia , and Ryan

One superstar that Twomey expects Collingwood to chase hard is GWS defender Sam Taylor.
Twomey named Collingwood among four clubs that will be “front and centre” should Taylor assess his options.
But I think Collingwood is among the clubs that will hunt him as a free agent next year and throughout the next 12-18 months.

“Everyone is going to have a dip, let’s face it, West Coast, Fremantle, I think Essendon as well as the Magpies will all be front and centre if he does want to look at his options.

Not one bit of factual info - article based on player out of contract - Collingwood will prob chase
Even the last paragraph admits that every club will have a dip at getting him.
Pointless article.

SEN were just quoting from the Gettable segment on the AFL website.
And Cal Twomey was merely speculating in answer to a listener's question about who Collingwood might go after.
He wasn't providing any concrete info at all, just looking at the type of player we might look at when they are out of contract.
Like Fox, SEN just regurgitate stuff from other sources.

Midfield - in general is a gaping hole when you think of our older midfielders in decline (Pendlebury, Mitchell, Crisp & Sidebottom).

KPF - agreed, McStay & Mihocek will be a good combination for the immediate future. Beyond that we could do with some talent there, but we have some $ to throw around.

3rd defender - pretty happy with Dean & Eyre, plus TJ.

Ruck - don't know that Steene is "very promising". I think he's better suited to Cox's role of ruck/fwd hybrid, and he's had some frustrating injury interruptions. Still like him, but think someone like Moyle as a young #1 ruck would be a good recruit (as Cameron is still a gun ruck/fwd).

Running HBF - Demattia & Parker are promising, Ryan is to a lesser extent, and Noble + Markov have several years left.

Let's not forget that Ryan is still just 19.
