I did say IF this is true.
You led with grow up Christian. I’m sure he’s been going through enough over the past couple of months without having people judge him for crap reasons made up by journos with an agenda.

Maybe but knowing Collingwood we throw in Hawks 2nd to get it done.

No chance. A pick around 70

About right. Might be able to add another pick 70 to the deal if we are lucky.

Probably a midfielder not worth much currency. Maybe a Fiorini type.

Don't see it. They don't need to dump salary. Maybe they could pay some of his for a better pick say 500k and pick 37 for Lynch on half pay. Still a big long shot.

It's a real unknown this trade period. I see a lot of movement of those barely known types for late picks.

We should be into Isaac Cumming as an FA target. Get him for cap space alone.

They have a 28 year old mid, who while being one of the best around, is likely not going to out his best foot forward in 2025 given his grievances with the club.
And you think they wouldn’t swap him for the exact type of player they’ve been screaming out for, for years now, who is coming in to his prime and could easily be a Coleman medalist again as the primary target in their forward line?

…really?

Who's going to kick it to McKay lol?

If Petracca and Oliver go they'll have to move Salem into the guts and hope Windsor, Rivers, Viney etc. can actually impact to the level of a top 8 side.

Anyway, I doubt McKay would agree to it unless they legit doubled his pay.

Christian Pietracca will join us in the offseason, along with one of his out of favour, contracted, teammates as a salary dump.

Our future first will be the only thing of value going the other way.

Care to explain?

Absolute no way McKay goes to Melbourne why would he.

Would be great if it was true.

Edit: calling soreplums to emergency, call dr.soreplums is this close to what you heard?

We can dream about big names but realistically what does this trade period look like.

Future 1st for a 1st this year.
Future 2nd for Reef.
Port's pick 37 for Richards
A fringe player pick up.
Maybe a crippled Lynch salary dump.

Outside of these potential options I just can't see us doing much
So we've gone from no picks to potentially 5 but "we aren't doing much"... come on.

I mean it works in theory if they weren’t losing Perryman and Cumming, but in reality with Haynes coming back to a normal rate of pay and those losses they won’t be under the cap pressure you’ve assumed. If it’s interest in Coniglio you have he’s a bit old and banged up for mine. He might improve us I just don’t see any need or desire from their end.

I’m not interested in Coniglio as a stand-alone trade but the idea of them including a first rounder to sweeten a deal to get most of Coniglio’s salary off their books is interesting. Even better if the senior player in question is Kelly rather than Coniglio! Anyway, I’m just spit-balling some hypotheticals - like most on here.

Ok. So it's all come together

Lynch and Coniglio as salary dumps which come with late firsts. We then pass the picks on to Melbourne with a future first for Petracca.

Simple.

Lynch, Coniglio and Petracca for a future first - we'll need to get Ned Guy back to take the blame for the salary cap **** up that ensues - and might need to invest in walking frames - but do it Pies

That would be three firsts for Petracca under your scenario - let’s keep at least one of them!

Gotta love the trade thread! We all dream up some great trade ideas - none of which ever eventuate - but it’s good fun!

Cogniglio would be a great pick up depending on the cost.
