We should be a destination club but our salary cap according to reports is still a major handicap
Although in better shape than the past couple of years we are still paying for Grundy and Treloar
Lose their money and we are in the game for Barass Battle Houston and others
This and mismanagement of a few years back are still having a ripple effect
Would love to pay the money we owe to Treloar and Grundy off in a single year. Would be worth not recruiting anyone expensive.

Watch the cats tonight play a cracking first half makes me wonder why we are being written off by many for next year
Geelong have 10 players over 30 names in the team tonight including emergencies
They have had a couple of flat spots throughout the year and had no way the injuries that we have had this year
We really need a continued improvement from our younger player in Allan Parker and a few others
A focus on a couple of good foot soldiers in the trade period and an opportunity with the likes of Noble and Richards moving on for second rounders hopefully we can get back into the first round of the draft.
I think we will be at the pointy end of the ladder again next year if Leppa can weave a little bit of magic
Also by finishing 9th our draw should be a little easier

It feels like Geelong have 60 players on their list. Stanley bobs up for the final.

I can't keep up.

Our over 30yr players are geriatrics.
Playing very well mind you.
I'm confident for next season and expecting a few good ones in the draft.

Does someone know what happen to Sam Sofronidis?
I know he missed the list at the start of this season, and he signed onto the VFL squad. But it looks like he only played 2 games. Was there a injury this year?
is he someone we could bring back to look at as a cheap key back option?

Don’t bet on easy draw from AFL

If we pay $100 to the Dogs for Treloar and Hawks pay $100 for Mitchell - then we are all square?

It's just that ours are out in the media.
Not rocket science. Back ending contracts and bringing forward future picks may make your current stats look good, but it is not good stewardship of the Club.

I am usually in the camp that you do not recruit players who are are 29 or 30 and/or over. OK. However in the case of Stringer, I would offer no more than a 2nd Round Draft choice to Essendon. Plus, I would expect him to be at the peak of fitness as he could not simply be a static forward in our forward line but as the previous poster suggested he would need to have the tank to occasionally go into the middle to help out our mid-field. OK.

Now I would like to raise the names of Alex Davies from the Gold Coast & James Peatling from GWS who are both young mid-fielders & who have both been linked to Collingwood as potential trades. Now I am not all that familiar with either or both players but would they be good acquisitions for the Pies? Goodnight & good luck.

Recruiting only who is 30 is no different to keeping one who is 30

Depends on the situation - as an example Ohtani I believe heavily back ended a contract to allow the Dodgers to get more talent for the now.

Injured his foot in april, was meant to return in july but guess he had a set back.

The salary cap story does not match up with some of the deals we are supposed to be offering ion likes of Luko
He is on a ridiculous back end contract for what he has achieved to date
Smith Battle Barass we were right into according to media and we have been out bid for at least 2 of them and probably all off them
We seem to be looking at a lot of second tier player in Pleating Davies Hobbs so I would say the cap is still
pretty tight

I think it's more about our lack trade capital. We don't have the picks to chase the bigger names

Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure ohtani deferred his entire salary until after his contract finishes.
