According to To Cal on Gettable, it looks like its down to Carlton, Bulldogs, St Kilda and Collingwood for Houston. He has met with all 4 clubs.
Getting a deal done for him seems the biggest issue for us.

Surely he doesn’t want to play for the Saints & crazy Bevo. Houston & Dale play the same role.

The blues are a rabble.

I’d love Houston. If we get him, we can send Jaicos back to the wing & IQ on the other wing.

Suggestion was if we can get Pick 12 from GC as part of the Noble deal, and pair that up with F1 (noting that it may well get swallowed up by a McGuane bid), that could get it done
Pick 12 and a future first for Stringer? Someone whose club is only willing to offer one year contract? What? Huh?

Ive just reviewed every draft since 2005 when we drafted Pendelbury. I based it off 50 games played as an absolute minimum. The results are shocking.
2005, 9 in, 3 played over 50 games(33%)
2006, 10 in, 8 played over 50 games (80%)
2007, 6 in, 0 played over 50 games (0%)
2008, 11 in, 4 played over 50 games (34%)
2009, 8 in, 4 played over 50 games (50%)
2010, 14 in, 1 played over 50 games (7%)
2011, 10 in, 2 played over 50 games (20%)
2012, 13 in, 2 played over 50 games (20%)
2013, 8 in, 3 played over 50 games (37%)
2014, 10 in, 7 played over 50 games (70%)
2015, 10 in, 4 played over 50 games (40%)
2016, 12 in, 4 played over 50 games (33%)
2017, 7 in, 4 played over 50 games (43%)
2018, 9 in, 3 played over 50 games (33%)
2019, 4 in, 1 played over 50 games (25%)
2020, 10 in, 1 played over 50 games (10%)
2021, 8 in, 2 played over 50 games (25%)

The scary reading is how many never played 1 game!!! If i was running a business that strike rate would mean recruiters would be sacked.
You only get to play games if you're best 22. So even if you nail all your picks, only a small percentage of the 80+ drafted in a 10 year period is going to play over 50 games especially when a large part of the side is also made up of traded in best 22 players.

It's not about quantity, it's about quality and finding those stars through the draft that would be impossible to pry out/trade for. Maybe a better metric would be how many we've drafted that have played 150-200+ games to really see the quality.
