There's a lot of 'I think' with journo's. As in it being their opinion only.

They seem to enjoy linking us to every player over 30 atm.
They're known for putting 2 and 2 together and writing it up. The link to us is just to sell more papers, as you know.

Yeah, it doesn't really have to unfortunately. It can be as simple as a journalist knowing a club has spoken to a player and they will report it

Big Difference between Talking to a Player to getting him to then Club

Club would talk to a lot of Players

I think club's list managers are meeting this week, aren't they? So that's pretty much what they would be doing...discussing player situations, potential trades, negotiations before the upcoming trade period.

And it would be the busiest time for players managers. They wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't speak to as many club's list managers as possible.

Journo's are probably hiding behind the bushes to see who they're all speaking to.. 🤪

Facts suggest you are wrong in saying we are the “oldest by a fair margin.”

Turning 29 or over in 2025.
Melb - 18
Geel Coll - 13
Carl - 12
BNE, Swans,GWS - 11
Even Freo who are considered a young list have 10.
So we are not as bad as you think.
So I have expanded on your post.

Pies have 14 players who will be 29+ next year. 12 of these players played more than 8 games. Only Mitchell (injured) & Markov didn’t. All these players are playing in 2025

Cats have 12 players that will be 29+ next year. 9 of these players played more than 8 games. Tuohey & Hawkins whom both played more than 8 games have retired. There are rumours Guthrie may join them

Demons have 18 players that will be 29+ next year. 12 of these players played more than 8 games. Brayshaw & Brown have retired. J. Smith (suspended) & will not play again/ Tomlinson has not been offered a new contract. Neal-Bullen is going to SA. Hunter & McAdam are rumoured to be delisted after the trade period. So Melbourne can possibly lose 7 29+ aged players

Blues have 13 players that will be 29+ next year. 10 of these players played more than 8 games. Martin is seeking a trade to WA

Lions have 11 players that will be 29+ next year. 7 of these players played more than 8 games. Lyons has retired

Swans have 11 players that will be 29+ next year. 9 of these players played more than 8 games. Reid has retired. Hamling likely to be delisted

GWS have 10 players that will be 29+ next year. 6 of these players played more than 8 games. Haynes, Kennedy will not be at the club next year

Bombers have 10 players that will be 29+ next year. 10 of these players players played more than 8 games. Hind, Stringer, Kelly will not be at Bombers next year & Shiel is rumoured to be going to STK

Fremantle have 9 players that will be 29+ next year. 6 of these players played more than 8 games. Taberner & Hughes have been delisted

I refuse to engage with posters like yourself who find negativity in everything. It’s tiresome. The world isn’t ending. We will be fine. Not even 12 months on from a flag fmd.

Anyway. Back to 2024 trades.

You’re right, our list is in wonderful shape. And our set of 0-4 year players really is best in show. I don’t know what I was thinking. Please forgive me for my foolishness in suggesting otherwise. I defer to your superior expertise in all things football, recruitment and list management. Carry on.

As Hawks are set to get Barrass and Josh Battle. I'd like to know where they go with Sam Frost, Ethan Phillips, Jai Serong, Denver Granger-Barass, but even more excitingly, James Blanck.

They already have Sicily and Weddle set, so obviously, they can't play all of them, that kind of pinch for positions make some of them could be quite cheap and high upside. Blanck especially would be a huge get being forced out of the team with the 2 new Hawks recruits.

We desperately need a Key Back so we can free up Moore to get back to his AA CHB intercepting best!
