Is pick 12 overs for Noble? Yes. Just once I’d like to be the assholes that don’t buckle during trade week though. It’s probably gonna end up lower than pick 12 anyways
If that’s what we’re chasing it doesn’t necessarily need to be a Noble for 12 swap. It probably winds up Noble and 48 for 12 or something similar.

It’s quite clear Harry O is related to Long and has told us he’s been delisted. All of those fringe guys OOC know their fate whether it’s done or whether it relies on other moves. My guess is the only ones up in the air are the three we’ve been told about.

The way I equate upgrading the 30th player on the list is we have assorted rocks on our list and in Parfitt we have a slightly bigger and shinier rock. By taking that list spot to the draft you’re looking to find a diamond. They may never improve our best 23, but in what is being touted as one of the strongest drafts of the past 15 years I’m taking the chance on the diamond over the known rock.

That’s why I wouldn’t try to improve our 30th player on the list and whilst it made sense two years ago our list is now off the pace, literally, and another mid list plodder adds nothing.
Geelong have delisted 7, which tells you we need to be ruthless.
There's no point holding onto players who won't take us forward.
Nice guys finish last.

Still hopeful that Bailey will nominate us.

Last night's brownlow count made one thing abundantly clear, Carlton and Collingwood rely too much on the one player to carry their midfield and win them games. The swans on the other hand have 3 top 10-15 mids who can all share the load . As much as fly wants a kpf , as enticing as Houston looks, we have to prioritize our salary cap and draft allocation towards building a midfield around Nick. What's the point of investing heavily in fwds if there isn't a capable midfield that is going to be able to deliver them the ball consistently.

Considering our best inside mid and best line breaking mid were injured for most of the season, might have something to do with it.

I think we'll still be trying to win and whilst I'd cut most out of the middle, we still need some grinders if we want to compete.

Smit, Steene, Ryan, TJ, HDM, are 5 I wouldn't be considering depth. I'd be hitting the draft this year too. Add 5 kids, who I wouldn't consider depth yet either. Leaving us needing a balanced list of 32 ready to play guys. I think that's as tight as you can go, probably a bit too tight, but hoping a kid or two comes on quickly. If you can improve that 32 for free it's a no brainer. I haven't looked at the numbers to see what that means in terms of cheap depth. And the club won't know for sure where they're at until after trade period.

So after the first two goals - the best 22 and the draft hand, at the end look at depth, can you balance or improve it for free or **** all. That's what I'd do and why I wouldn't rule out mid or even late career guys who might not be straight into the 22.

I agree about hitting the draft, however, this year’s draft seems to have about a dozen ready made players, so ideally, we would want to get whatever we can in the 1st round. Having said that, I think every club is probably thinking the same thing.

We have McGuane to come in next season who is likely to cost us our 1st pick, so if there is a young, ready made key position player there who may have 10 years to give, I think it may be worth it.

And he can spend time with Moore shopping for headbands.
I do agree about finding the next chb to eventually replace moore. Given how long it usually takes for a kpd to mature into top flight defender, might be wise to look for one now. Think midfield and kpd would be our main priorities over the next few years. Also another reason I would avoid Houston is because of Hines track record of identifying and drafting medium/running defenders in the draft or via free agents.

Harry o is related to and knows everyone. I'll believe it when it's announced. He's had some shit mail over the years. I don't reckon anyone on BF gets inside mail on the club, we wish we did but we don't. BTW, I'd probably delist long as well.

Of course it’s f***ing Ralphy. Should have been able to pick it from the declaration that the Suns have to give pick 6 for Rioli and that Collingwood will have to make do with the left over dregs.

F*** that guy.
Pick 20 for Noble in a strong draft is a ripping deal. Take it and run away smiling if it's offered.

You may be right, but there's no harm in attempting to extract maximum value. And if I was the list manager at Collingwood I'd be pretty indignant about the likes of Jon Ralph telling me what I "have to" be happy with.

You'd give yourself an ulcer if you worried about the press comments in that job. I'd say we'll offer a fair bit more than Noble if we are chasing pick 12.

As a direct swap maybe, but we’re clearly targeting a deal involving pick 12 so why should we let those scum sucking bastards try and take it from under our nose and be happy about it?

F*** that.

I wouldn't assume that they'd get a good deal. Every club will want it - except GC and Brisbane. They'll get some good offers
