And that’s a lesson

Don’t bring in b grade talent to your list
B grade talent is fine. Neither Rategoulea or Zerk-Thatcher are B grade though, they’re fringe/depth players.

Perryman chose to wear 36 at the Giants as a homage to his childhood hero Swanny. Who he also happened to dress up as at a Giants Mad Monday. Interesting.

I'm a fan of his answers. Get him.

He'll need a different number, because HH is going nowhere.

That was on the back of senior players we traded in/had on our list. Surely you can't overlook the history of failure of our first round picks in recent years( excluding the likes of allan, de matia as jury is still out on them). We are missing out on top end talent as we are unable to identify/ develop them properly.
And yet we keep making finals, PF, GF’s and winning flags.
We’ve had this debate many times. The draft is a lottery, with no guarantees of success. Carlton have been rewarding 1st round picks with wooden spoons for years.
By the measures above we’ve done well compared to virtually every other team.

How do l get a stats comparison between Noble and Rioli?

Did one a while back for them in 2023 when we obviously won the flag and the Tigers weren't a complete rabble.

There's just a strange different evaluation between use of draft picks in trade versus draft. If you trade an early pick on a player who only ends up being solid it's a disastrous use of a pick. Use the same pick on a player who gets delisted 3 years later - no disaster.

Having a sneaky look at the Port Adelaide board -and they don't seem overly desperate to keep Lord. Even comments that his 4 goals in that final was a bit of an outlier.

He's a 22 year old KPF averaging just over a goal a game. He hasn't proven anything but his stats are probably on par with a few other KPF at his age. We'd be after him on potential more than anything else.
