Don't rule it out
Or rule it in...

Perryman is a good pick up on age profile and position. This adds to the addition of Schultz last year as addressing both the present and future. Perfect types to add when in the window but also lacking a strong future core, they'll help us bridge the gap to a refreshed list without bottoming out. Haven't watched him closely, so can't say too much on his game, but let's hope for a Jordan Dawson trajectory as he moves to the midfield.

This of course is not sustainable as the only way to improve, we'll quickly hit cap problems. The draft is still the best way to add quality without having to pay for it immediately - having Nick at well below cost was a big part of our 2023 flag - and adding talent from the draft, as well as developing what we have, is crucial to continued success.

Just talk. I need more. Like Smith actually saying it.
Yeah. Imagine happens in the next week
But then, sometimes these things just get done. Both clubs know. Doesn't always need to be voiced officially. Bit like when Grundy went to Syd. There was no "official" trade request from melb. It was just done.

Ok, but I need solid evidence. For now heresay.

Perryman is a good get. I think he is keen to play mid-field and would be a good replacement for Sidebottom and Pendlebury end of next season playing more at the centre and wings, while being able to be a half back defender depending on strategy.

Peatling should also be targeted, his tackling has been elite since he got to play more.

McCrae and Leppa are targeting players who fit the strategy of the team, basically hard ball chasers and good tacklers. Critical to Pies strategy. Schultz trade last offseason is just the start of many movements that bring very good to elite pressure players defensively.

It's funny how on trade radio they talk sh!t don't listen to it because they don't know what they're talking about
yet you get a guy that someone posted yesterday that how the hell he got the gig because he only played a handful of games for Stkilda drops a SDK is on the outs at Geelong and everyone is get him get him

I'd imagine our Peatling interest was contingent on not securing Perryman. Would be surprised if we signed, or even tried to sign, both as their primary role looks to be the same. On limited viewing I'd prefer Perryman as a more allround and flexible player.

Think we'll be looking for tall defensive options if, any are available, as our number one remaining priority.

Perryman in. Whispering on Peatling (keen now Kennedy staying a Blue), Houston and SDK (sounds like clickbaiting radio chat though) has me musing.
Richards and Nobes out with a pick of ours and Peatling and Houston/SDK would be a damn satisfying trade and FA period.

Opposite ends of the ground, we'd be wanting both

I have a Geelong supporting mate that is a pretty good judge. He says SDK has been horrible as a key defender for the last 2 seasons, after making such a good start. I would like the chances of him capturing previous highs, but he hasn't been getting selected because he sucks at this point.
So he sucks? Late 3rd rounder and pay some of his salary or no deal. 😎

Who would they value the most I wonder?
Sounds like Oliver 🤦‍♂️
I wonder if the CATS need to let go of SDK in order to have the first round picks needed to close the deals they are chasing.

If that is the case, lets put the CATS to the sword by requesting SDK & F2 for pick 12 (received for Noble) & F3 from us.

I also wonder if SDK could be a future CHF...?

Just a thought?

Yes

I'm seeing both as mids. Peatling isn't a forward - especially so for us. Perryman has played defence but I think we'll be playing him mid. If Perryman stays in defence then Peatling makes more sense, but even then, a tall defender is a much higher priority, we need a Murphy replacement.
