Oliver’s reputed issues have frightened off other clubs. If Geelong think they can ‘fix’ him, then good luck to them. But I wouldn’t be confident of that.

Sure, they can provide a disciplined, successful and supportive club environment - but so did Melbourne until recently.

This may be the point at which Geelong’s arrogance tips over into delusion.
I really hope this is their undoing. They do everything so well

I hope if he does stay at Port, the Blues know it's because Perryman chose us over Port.

That would be the icing on the cake.
My favourite kind of cake - the Carlton Shafter.

This may be the point at which Geelong’s arrogance tips over into delusion, and their first major misstep in a long time.

Oliver is still a gun. Even with all the crap of this year, he still played 21 good games. If the Cats get him they will likely be paying unders. Sadly, he will be a great get if it comes off.

Word is on trade radio Oliver deal won’t go through

It would take a lot of doing given Oliver’s massive contract and Cats’ trade hand.

Almost a perfect scenario if he stays after signalling he wants to leave. Him and Petracca can spend one more season together hating each other.

No?

You seem to think I said he was a superstar
What did you think of his ability to cover the ground in those games you watched? My take is he was on the slow side when he entered the league which is to say he was ruck paced as a FWD/ ruck. After his injuries he was slow for a ruck.

He got cut because he can’t compete as a KPP and he’s done. If we brought him in he would be back of the queue at both ends of the ground and I’d rather we have an 18yo in that position on the depth chart.

Fair enough

Just thought he might be worth a shot if we could get his body right

I think I'm wanting to basically take on anyone because I see just about everyone as an upgrade on Bytel, Sullivan and Long

Surely, we would go talk to Joe Daniher
Say let's do the old Mal Michael retired trick
give us 2 years and your brand will be so big you will set for life.

I must say I am quite enjoying the latest developments in the Oliver saga, with Edmund believing that Melbourne is pulling out of trade engagements. Looking forward to some insightful words from their vaunted leaders at their B&F tonight

One of my favourite parts of Trade Radio is the annual tradition of bringing on one of the no-name players who literally just got delisted. The conversation will invariably involve said no-name player (having played 3 senior games across 5 years) talking about how he's got plenty more to offer, he just needs another chance, he's happy to move anywhere to continue playing AFL. The conversation will always include a reference to how it was somehow a surprise he got delisted despite spending the year in the twos or in the rehab group.

The no-name player is subsequently never heard from again besides the odd cash in hand job playing for Cygnet Football Club or the like.

I wonder if Mitch Hardie is smart enough to be aware of the vaunted niche he has now found himself in.
**** me, now it's Cooper Hamilton and Curtis Taylor.

I actually thought Curtis Taylor had a lot of talent. Quite surprised North showed him the door. He played really well against us this year. If our list spots weren’t so tight I wouldn’t mind him as DFA. 24yo, 76 games. Think our style of game would suit him too as a tallish HF/wing. Eventually take over from WHE. Won’t happen though due to list spots.

Well there was that one time he had that half decent game against us…
Ironically, I think that game signified more that we didn't need Grundy. A million dollar player getting touched up by a rookie was a bad look.
