They didn't and now they have that F1 and F2 still on the way you assume, pick 12 and Owies.

So it was either be left with 3 and Baker or Baker and all of the above. They aren't getting Baker without doing the deal for Barrass in your scenario. Now they have the option to hold him albeit unlikely if they don't like the offer.

P.S- If they couldn't supply Richmond with pick 14 in this years "super" draft then it's reasonable to think a F1 belonging to either Carlton or Hawthorn wasn't going to cut it. They've probably just saved themselves a F2 also.

I think both sides will come away feeling content however the Blues have just placed all their eggs in one single basket and in a draft where some have likened a mid teens pick to being the equivalent of a top 10 selection in other years, the gamble for Carlton has only increased.

I hope it goes spectacularly wrong.

We need depth talls and if we can get them for free, we get to release lesser depth that is unlikely to ever become more - eg Krueger, Dean, Eyre.
