If you look at my thread on the Drafts board, look at the OP I"ve nailed it from way out back on the 26th of June IMO, Aish will chose Collingwood, Lions will hustle and bustle, but I don't think they'll settle for a second rounder, and they won't get two second rounders off us.

There'll be chest pumping and hustle and bustle, already Matthews has stuck his chest out, and perhaps burnt bridges and much hope of Aish staying, his comments played into Collingwood's hands.

I believe after much hustle and bustle, they player who will be traded for the right deal as BEEG stated will be Oxley, but they will have to compromise to get him. Oxley got 2 brownlow votes in a rookie season (?) and in my view he was BOG in the Melbourne QB game. He should have had 5 votes. Aish is still the better prospect but not a great deal better. It won't be a straight trade, it'll be Aish plus pick 26 for Beams and pick 39 perhaps a better pick thrown our way pending what they get for other player exodus.

Brisbane more then welcome to keep him if they think they can get two second rounders or a fair deal under the circumstances, we'll enjoy the fact that he wants or wanted to play for Collingwood. Many we'll also enjoy the constant media speculation of whether he stays or goes, to an extent. I big part of me will feel sorry for him, he wouldn't deserve such media speculation as he has rights that in this instance should have been adhered to.

And the Brisbane Lions would be a footy club with the stigma of having no integrity, being a bunch of hypocrities from top to bottom inside out. Culturally it'll be a terrible move to keep Aish.

Either way, we can't lose, we will get Treloar AND Tomlinson, Aish a mere bonus, the angst from Lions supporters over a player who'd be on the fringe of our best 22 is such popcorn stuff.

Dare say you meant Oxley and 39.

Another name that people don't seem to be putting much thought into yet apparently according to the media anyway wants out to Vic is Omeara.

If it came a choice between Omeara and Aish, Omeara all day long.

Where's this Tomlinson talk coming from?

People jut putting 1+1 and getting 4 a bit here.

Tomlinson wants out. Pies were rumourwed to be after Treloar plus a young indigenous talent presumed to be Hampton who chose crows.

People trying to swing Treloar plus another off GWS so he has become the new target.

Thats my take anyway.

Tomlinson and Hampton talk is coming from the fact that 2 first rounders is a tad over for treolar. He has potential. I love the kid. But 2 first rounders is better than what we got for beams. So I think it's fair that we"ll be getting another player in return.

Aish is a gun. I hope we're in it up to our eyeballs. Nobody thought Polec would explode having left that rubbish club, and then bang. I think he's all class.

EDIT: not to mention crispy. They couldn't develop a Polaroid.

I think there was also some Facebook rumour about the Pies getting pick 9 and Tomlinson is a former pick 9 so some are suggesting the pick 9 rumour is a cryptic rumour.

Media reported "pick 9" may be part of the Treloar trade.

Tomlinson is a former pick 9 currently out of favour at the Giants.. he is the type of player we could really use on our list... it makes a lot of sense.

So if you are sitting with say pick 7 and Carlton fronted up and said "we want to trade 23 and 26 for your pick 7" are you saying you would agree?
Carlton aren't going to use their first pick on an academy prospect. It's really not that hard to understand.

Edit: read that wrong. Unless Collingwood had a top 5 rated father/son prospect, no you wouldn't. If they did, then yes you would do it.

That's a good point. In the instance that they want to draft 5players, they're probably looking for the best available picks. And would prefer two first rounders instead.

Of course, any more than 3 selections for GWS and they would want our 1st rather than extra points from latter picks.

I was think Sydney's first pick which will be used for Callum Mills. Pick 24 and 26 is about equivalent to pick 14 according to the points system, it might be worth more actually

Sydney will be trading out Jetta and perhaps Bird so wont have a need to sacrifice pick 14.

People are overstating I think the impact the new points system will have on trading.

Pick 24 and 26 might well be worth pick 8 in terms of points but in reality the club who receives it will still be selecting a player 16 selections after that.

The new points system will provide a little leeway in terms of trading and give a little more value to picks but clubs still wont be giving away prized recruits for a whole bunch of junk picks that equate to x amount of points.

For a player taken at pick 7 just two years ago, a player rated very highly by Hine at the time I don't see trading two second round selections as an exorbitant cost.

Of course the club may see it differently but with some still banging on about the lack of quality in this years second round do you really want to miss out on a potential elite grade 200 game player all because we weren't prepared to hand over pick 26 in 2015.

If Brisbane still wont trade Aish with the offer of two 2nd round selections then it gets more difficult and we may walk away.
