Looking at the points table for picks we could dial ourselves into the 1st round by seeking either 8 or 10 (jom) from the Sun's (especially as they have 6 and would still retain three top ten picks. We need at least 1400-1550 to get it done and we could use the pick for a KPD in the draft.
Witts has value to Eade since he needs to protect their young Ruck for 2-3 years whilst he develops. I rate Witts 400-500 points as a Ruck (serviceable but no way an a-grader). But Suns have a need.
How do we package Witts with another 1000 points? Picks are no use to the Suns this year unless they on trade and time is running out and we need to retain currency for 2 f/sons. Players people have mentioned but I only see Marley being available (who I thought would go to Tigers). Blair was offered a 1 year which indicates that Pies were happy to retain him despite Mayne in. Frost trade pick probably stored for f/sons value. Greenwood is going nowhere.
My thinking is perhaps one of Marley Blair or Thomas (who can be traded from Rookie to a senior spot) plus Pies 2nd in 2017 (or a second player?) Another way is Witts and 2017 1st round (which Suns might prefer) and get 8/10 and 2017 2nd pick (and swap late picks to even it out).
What about WHE? If it's this year we might send a 2017 pick their way which they would be offered the year anyway. Value? I'm not convinced it's anything but late 2nd at the best probably 3rd. Personally I'd prefer to develop Crocker as I think he has a higher ceiling.

blair, Williams etc have little value to gcs. the only way I could see us getting into round 1 this year is swapping first round picks..2016 for 2017 and adding a 3-4th round pick to make it worthwhile or add witts and downgrade his pick. eg from 44 out to 62. if not why would the suns help us?

The more this goes on the more I'm thinking this will happen;

Witts - Pick 44 or 62 (GCS)
Frost - Pick 78 (BL)
Cloke - Pick 50 (Via STK) or 61 (WB)
Williams - Delisted

when are punters going to learn that it doesn't matter how many fringe players and NQR battlers you bundle together, it doesn't get you either quality players or quality first round draft picks?

If ya want quality, ya got to give up quality, and no amount of quantity makes up for the lack of quality

Hence "imagine." Far out, if anyone thinks I was being serious you have rocks in your head.

Dunn's manager says it'll happen and we are waiting on a couple of other deals to get done. May be straight pick or a swap of picks but will be done.

Might be a Multiple Team Trade

It would be a crime to de-list Williams yet keep Blair, Oxley, Sinclair, Thomas & Langdon. At his best, Williams is better than all of those guys. Why is everyone so cold on him? He's aggressive, fast and breaks the lines. He's the closest thing we have to JJ at W.Bulldogs, who everyone seems in love with. Williams mightn't have had a good year, but has shown enough times that his upside potential is substantial. If we show faith in him, it could really pay off. We can't afford to be giving away players with demonstrated upside for nothing in return.

Surely we haven't given up on Williams that quickly?

Had a horrible season this year but was great the year before. I'd be quite surprised if he was delisted. His kicking is the main issue. Can that be fixed?

If he stays I hope he can have a big pre season and attack 2017 with gusto.

He's best friends with Dustin Martin.... Surely that says enough!?

The difference between Marley and all those other guys...he can't kick and makes some really terrible decisions.

Do we know how many points or whatever it is, to pick up the two f/s's

All depends on where they get bid on.

Bidding is live on draft night this year, and if we really want them we can go into deficit for next season which means giving up a 3rd or a 4th round pick if we a short a couple of hundred points.
