By giving up a top five pick?

In all seriousness it could be pick 1 in 2017 that they gave up. Correction as the 1st is the 2017 Geelong pick. May end up spending a fair bit of next year barracking harder than normal against the Scum. I would laugh so hard but then i would cry that GWS gets pick 1 after winning the flag and also gets Brander as an Academy player for their pick 18. We are going to be watching a team that may pass our 4 consecutive flags.

OUT: Swan (v.sadly) Toovey Macaffer Brown Witts Frost Williams Gault Goodyear Marsh(?)
IN: Wells Mayne WHE Dunn Daicos Brown & draft punts
RETURNING FROM INJURY: Scharenberg Elliott Ramsay Langdon

CONCLUSION: 2017 playing stocks vastly improved on 2016
You forgot next years second rounder.

I hate to say this but Carlton cleaned up.

Effectively traded Touhey and later picks for Marchbank, Pickett, Palmer and GWS future 2nd.

The did well but you are forgetting about the 2nd rounder they gave to geelong for Touhey

So it is Touhey their 2017 2nd round plus 45 and 58 for the players and gws 2017 2nd round pick

As did hawthorn, traded in t Mitchell,Omeara (for peanuts pick 10, future 2nd rnds meh). Offload two pensioners with their best work behind them. Any chance we can trade Hine for G wright?

Those two pensioners finished #1 and #2 in their best and fairest. And they returned absolute peanuts in trade value. I'd be holding off before we give the Hawks a resounding endorsement for this trade period.

I see Marchbank and Pickett as slight unders for having to take Palmer

You mean the Palmer that was selected ahead of Will Hoskin-Elliott in the preliminary final, who we just paid a second round pick for?

That Palmer?

Bingo, it's been a good trading period...hopefully Marsh comes to his senses

I think we might guess that they picked Palmer because they knew WHE was leaving (but weren't sure about Palmer).

now stop posting the same thing in every thread kthx

Snore, I'm admitting that - but I'm sure the 'great minds' at the trade table could have come up with something.

Oh yeah, it's fine to complain, but not actually provide any real solutions.

Yes, we could have got into the first round, however we would have had to trade a quality player, or a player and a pick in order to do so. We do that and then you would find a way to complain about who we trade.
