The point is, it's not that simple. You don't magically get into the first round if you aren't giving up something in return.
It was two third rounders AND their first round pick next year. That's probably a top 3 pick. That's overpaying by a fair bit in my opinion.

And Palmer got picked ahead of WHE in the finals when they lost Stevie J to suspension. They were both salary dumps. We got screwed.
