People talking about resting players are mad.

This is 1 v 2 and a chance to get a psychological edge on a rival that we haven't defeated for a number of years.

It's a genuine statement game, regardless of the personnel we have on the park.

Because the long season and short turnaround has had no impact on ... say ... Moore's injury?

Geelong rested players last year.

The SEN writers, David King, and others have suggested we're in a great position to manage players.

There's insanity everywhere!!!!

Shithole stadium, hopeful for the win. No Gunston to me allows for Howe to remain forward to try and negate Harris Andrews. Frampton to Daniher, Murphy to Hipwood, Maynard to Rayner, IQ to Cameron. Sidebottom straight back in.

The sub question is an intriguing one

A bit of retro footage to get the juices flowing:

Scott Cummings. By the look of him, I'm not sure he missed too many dinners (or starred on the track during preseason) but he could have been anything.

I didn't dislike that ground in the past as much as I dislike it now. My membership entitles me to seats. Won't go.

The herding of the crowd and the overcrowded exit is the final topping on what is a massive sh*t sandwich.

Devoid of character.

Very soulless experience. I have only been once or twice in the last few years (for non Pies games), don't think I could hack watching a game I was invested in there.

100% agree I too dislike the ground for similar reasons and didn't bother with tickets.
I am not going either.

Personally HATE Marvel. Have chosen not to go for over 10 years now.

Love the MCG - it's such a special place. Marvel is bleh.

Pretty nervous about this game
I see brisbane as equal premiership favourites with us
IF they clearly have our measure, again, after having the wood on us a while, I wont be quick to dismiss the result
It will mean we have a bit to work on with little time
I wont be writing it off as psychology or flatness, like the carlton and hawthorn games.
I remember the collingwood geelong late season game in 2011
I want to see that our mids can break even

I don't get the hate for Docklands. Of course the MCG is far superior, but for a modern 50k capacity stadium, what more do you want? Hard to create character from concrete. The sight lines are awesome.

And when it's raining, as is predicted for Friday evening, it becomes even more awesomer.

Rayner. Played like he was Modra last time we played them. JFC

I very much liked the Medallion Club experience when the ground was first built and the sight lines are good.

I dislike the location & access. Hate the funnelling of the crowd after the game.

Both Sidey and your good self like Hawaiian pizza and Marvel Stadium. Coincidence?

If this was at the MCG, I'd be confident of winning even without Moore and Daicos

At Marvel? Not so much. We don't play Marvel great and Brisbane do. In fact, Marvel is where they beat us in Melbourne last.

Combined with the game being somewhat of a dead rubber and us possibly seeing Essendon as the more winnable game the week after, maybe they might not come in as sharp as they need to?

Brisbane by 26

Wouldn't worry about Neale too much. Do they have an out of form tall forward? Cameron had kicked 13 goals in 10 games before kicking 7.4 against us. We played Daniher into form last time we played the Lions.

Not sure if Hipwood has kicked a bag in a while. 6+ incoming?
I wouldn't worry about who kicks their goals. They've got a talented group of forwards, who like to get goal side of their opponent and our defenders like to push up. When they cut through our first lines of defence or we turn it over in the wrong part of the ground, they'll be lining up for out the back goals. It'll be a raffle as to who kicks it. We've just got to defend the ground well and keep the pressure on like we did against the Cats for Q2 and 3 last week.

Can I use your membership? :)

The thing that always used to piss me off was the prices of the food. OMG, talk about rampant profiteering. It was enough to turn you full Antifa.

50k capacity. That's it in a nutshell. There's not the atmosphere we're used to. We are averaging 71k crowds at the G.
Marvel just can't compete and can't give that same atmosphere, we G loving pies fans are used to.

And we didn't have a ruck (Cameron, Cox and Begg all injured). We rucked McStay and he got slaughtered - I thought we did well to get as close as we did. Should be a lot different this time around.

agree - watched a bit of that game recently, and thought we weren't that bad, outside of the ruck work, which is where the game was lost really. Sheer dominance from the big O.

Was the Big O injured last round? He may be doubtful.
