VFL Collingwood VFL Season 2023

Almost consider this worthy of its own thread but I'll just post it here. This is another sign of the club's current level of regard to the VFL team. Rather than advertising an opportunity to watch two or three quarters of the VFL lads at Victoria Park for the only time this season, they're marketing this.

I mean it's pretty clear they're trying to hype up the AFL game to get leverage in the MCG seating allocations by talking about how many they get for matches against interstate teams.

Basically what it says. A couple players invited to train with the team to show their wares to get elevated to the list. I'm unsure how that works, if you can add players to the list after the season starts or if its elevation for the next year.
You can make up to a certain amount (maybe 15) list changes throughout the year.

Apart from decision making - what does he lack?
I think in all aspects of the game he is more than capable, except footy IQ.
Kelly needs to work on not turning the ball over, winning the ball (he missed a few easy marks) and avoiding mishaps.

Debuts by former Pies:
Poulter: 14 disposals,
Rantall: 20 disposals (seems to have regressed a bit)
McMahon: 12 disposals

Not really missing McMahon or Poulter.

No way at the moment. Reef has the passion and hunger for the contest that AJ is sadly lacking at the moment. Our game plan is based upon our ferocious appetite for the contest and a willingness to run and chase like your life depended upon it. If one player becomes the weak link by refusing to attack the pill, chase and defend it affects the entire team. Reef was fantastic last

Hawks game just finished.

Okay.

I am just Giving an Opinion and was kind of a Smart ass Remark by Jen
And you always say it, so just saying its easy to say given he has played more than we have lol
Reckon if you have played any AFL games then you are an afl player. And he has played plenty

I know but People can still Watch and See what Happens.

Has Played 70 AFL Games and that is Plenty of Time to find out

Sometimes players need a reality shot or kick up the bum.
You just never know if he makes it or not.

Who’s in the team?

Our VFL list is divided into two categories: Primary and Development. Primary Listed players are players available on the open market. Development listed players must be under the age of 22 as of January 1, 2023. This list is designed to strengthen connection between the VFL and Coates Talent League.

In total, there are 25 players on the Collingwood VFL list for 2023. In addition, there are also four train-on players, who are invited to train with the team and are eligible for elevation to the list.

Primary list: Campbell Lane, Vivian Blackmore-Moore, Sam Glover, Lachlan Tardrew, Jacob Booth, Neville Jetta, Campbell Hustwaite, Tom Wilson, Jake Long, Josh Eyre, Ben Silvagni, Edward Delaney, Liam Purcell.

Development list: Kaden Schreiber, Jedd Longmire, Jonathan Tomasiello, Rye Penny, Jack Raines, Cobi Maxted, Chad Mulvogue, Harry Flynn, Zachary Greeves, Jovan Petric, Riley Voulanas, Yu Yu Ashwin.

Train on players: Billy Kolyniuk, Ben Quaynor, Andreas Stefanakis, Sam Hilton-Joyce.

Have we got two players named “Tom Wilson”? (One AFL listed, one VFL listed?)

I said that in the right position, Cal was the better out of him and Tyler and we'd regret delisting him. I wanted Kelly gone and Cal retained for a reason. Off HB, he was dangerous. He will get picked up again and star.
