We own goaled majorly in 2015-2018 before entering the sustained run of sheer stupidity that hopefully ended in 2022.

2015 rookie listing Farren was the first minor but informative alarm that the football decision makers had entered a shit for brains phase.
Well we had a succession plan for Goldstein and we had a replacement earmarked for McKay. We appear to be smarter in that space.

Certainly a more robust plan than moving Harvey on and going out and getting a Footscray fringe player as a replacement.

Spud and Drew were pretty cooked, and Dal was line ball I reckon. Boomer was a shit call then, and got shitter as time went on.
Did the club know that Wells was leaving for the Wobblers when Spud, Drew, Dal and Boomer were "released"?

In the end we lost 2010 games experience at the end 2016 and have never fully recovered.

If they didn't know, they should have tried to talk Boomer into returning.

Boomer had 500 touches and kicked 36 goals in his last season. Forcibly retiring him was absurd.
Yeah but we did end up with LDU the next year. Boomer was a match winner and might have one one of the five games we lost by under a goal or 10 pts (can't remember which) himself.

AFL industry identity from well-known footy family accused of rape

An extraordinary gag order prevents the man being being identified.

The profile of an AFL industry identity alleged to have r*ped a woman has been removed from the website of his employer, which works closely with male and female players.
But mystery surrounds the extent of the ongoing role in the game of the alleged rapist, who is part of a well-known AFL family, amid an extraordinary court gag order preventing him from being identified.
Senior sources at both the AFL and the AFLPA claimed to the Herald Sun this week that they did not know who he was.
Asked whether it was appropriate that a man accused of rape was able to continue to work with players, both the league and the players’ association refused to comment.
Then, on Thursday afternoon, the organisation which employs the man removed him from their staff list, despite his profile having remained on the website for the previous five days since the charges were laid.
The removal came at the same time that the Herald Sun was requesting responses from the AFL and AFLPA, but despite the fact the newspaper had not contacted his employer or identified him to the league or association.
The Herald Sun can further reveal that two alleged sexual attacks by the man occurred after he and a friend had visited a house with at least one woman.
The man’s friend is claimed to have had consensual sex with one woman in a bedroom, before leaving.
The man is part of a well-known AFL family.
The man, who is from a well-known AFL family, is then claimed to have entered the room and r*ped the woman, who justice sources said initially believed the man was his friend.
The man is alleged to have then sought to cover it up, by creating a fake Uber receipt to suggest that he had left the house earlier.
The man is facing two counts of rape and three counts of intending to pervert the course of justice.
Top barrister David Hallowes SC was granted a court order on June 14 to ban the media from naming him at least until his next court appearance, set for July 5.
The man had been charged on summons by Box Hill’s Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT).
He is charged with twice raping his alleged victim on January 14, 2024.
It is also alleged he created a “false Uber” and directed another person “to lie about his movements” to suggest another person “committed the acts alleged”.
The maximum penalty for rape is 25 years’ imprisonment.
“These are very serious offences,” magistrate Brett Sonnet said in the June 14 hearing.
Mr Hallowes submitted multiple psychiatric reports in arguing for the protection of the man’s identity.
The order was granted temporarily to also protect the identity of a family member well known in media circles.
The court heard the accused had no criminal history.
Wearing a black suit, he sat behind his lawyers throughout the proceeding.
The man was released on bail on conditions including that he did not leave the country.
Ahead of all the matches in round eight, players, senior coaches and umpires came together to pay a silent tribute to women who had lost their lives to gender-based violence.

And if that bloke charged is a player agent I'm guessing his brother is a star and is currently injured.

There is an article about said agent on April 29 saying he is swapping to a rival management group.

He does not appear on either of their websites.

Edit: These are all assumptions and should not to be taken as fact.
