As much as I’d rather stay at pick 3 it does get rid of pick 13 so it can’t be used in a Baker deal. It’s not the worst idea.

Even if we turned around and went 8+23 for 10+29+Baker or something, I could live with that

Both scenarios pretty close to being 6 to 1, half dozen to the other, depending on whether Hawks win the whole thing or don't.

guaranteed pick 4 vs maybe 14 + F1 10-18 (which could be pushed out the the 20s with compo bullshit)? and that's a big maybe given what i'm hearing about it only being 14 plus maybe a F2 with a swap of F3s. having two top 4 picks would give us soooooo much flexibility. absolutely take pick 4 every day of the week.

The minute we have a free agent to sell the AFL are going to review and dilute their compo calculation. Benefits them fine right now so make hay while the sun shines Laura and all you other corrupt ****ers.

I'm telling hawks we want a top ten pick, how you get it is your business otherwise I'm making a statement to the league that we can't give premium players away for picks that will be diluted by a tool as non-transparent as free agency compensation which netted us a second round pick for a vice captain but is now returning first round picks for players far below the upper echelon of the comp. We will now attempt to rebuild through our first and second round pick of 3 and pick 30 whilst those teams around us benefit from AFL priority, free agency fluff ups and multiple academy zone gifts.

Well this reminds me of last year. Pick 23 already out to pick 25. At least two f/s academy picks to go before then pushing it out to 27. Imagine it could get to mid 30’s by the time it’s done.

Pretty keen to see how Langford goes at the combine, if he's around the middle of the pack speed/endurance wise I'd be tempted with him at 3 given the quality of his disposal.

Takes us out of the top range of mids though, not really ideal.

The biggest issue with FA compensation is that it punishes clubs that have their players in contract. If TB wasn't in contract we would be getting pick 4, but because he's in contract it's 13 and something on top. I think all compensations should fall at the end of the round allocated.
