So Warner is ultimate trade prize and we are competing against the purples who have a better draft hand, interesting.

It’s not clear how they would put serong brayshaw young and Warner under same salary cap. Add in Bolton.

Either the rest don’t like money or they completely have blinkers on. Brayshaw is free agent next year and will get warner-like offers. They would have to lose players and then comes back to typical Freo show.

Anyone know Xavier Lindsay kicking efficiency stats? For the type of player he is, looks quite 50/50 that he hits targets.

I don’t have stats but he’s a very good, penetrating kick. One area I feel he can improve is that knowing he is a good kick he sometimes bites off more than he can chew. There’s a few good examples of this in noobermensch champs videos.

When it comes off it looks sublime but sometimes results in a turnover. Lewis Jetta used to do the same despite being one of the best kicks. Lindsay is the Gippsland captain and by all accounts he’s very coachable so once he learns the time to take on the dangerous kick I don’t think this will be a concern in the medium or long term.

No shade to Eastcoasteagle, just talking in generalities here.

I think people are tricked/biased by watching predominantly AFL which is played in huge stadiums that block 90% of the wind or even block out all external conditions altogether (docklands). These kids play in all sorts... most commonly heavy breeze, but also rain or at least heavy rain drenched tracks and waterlogged footys etc.

The other thing is they're not kicking to Charlie Curnow out there. They're kicking to young and inexperienced forward who more often than not lack the game awareness to anticipate the flight of the ball or body size to hold off an opponent, or even lack the forward craft or foot speed to get out on the lead and create a good option for a ball carrier.

There are a lot of reasons why disposal efficiency at junior level is a lot lower across the board, even for the really elite kicks. Xavier is an excellent kick to my mind, one of the best in the draft.

Very well put. I have no criticism of his technique, penetration or accuracy. Just needs to develop the knowledge of when to take on the difficult kick and when to kick within himself at AFL level but his kicking is attacking and line breaking. If you had a 2024 draftee kicking for your life Lindsay would be someone you’d be happy with ball in hand.

What an uninspiring career. Guy was so highly rated but kept going to clubs who already had good rucks. I can't believe he's done about 10 years on lists for about 20 games.
Not sure he was ever that highly rated. Had a fun name to say though

Eastcoasteagle is "under notice"

Draper for me.he operates real well in tight and that is so important in todays game
Yep our midfield and ball winning ability is where we need to add strength too.

We are currently relying on 31 year old yeo , 30 year old Kelly and 19 year old Reid. All of which are not elite runners or only 1 way runners .

Pick 3 draiper is genuine 2 way running ball winning mid .

We need to address this far more than HBF like TT who would be nice but not necessary ATM

JTD

Probably the single greatest pass I've ever seen.

Ditto. I was sitting in a direct line from Jetta to Yeo and I still had no idea where that kick was going until it hit Yeo on the nipple.
