What I like about Ginbey is that he has the potential go to head to head with those beast big powerful midfielders like Petracca and Oliver. Besides Yeo, we dont have anyone close to that. And I think its why we miss Yeo so much. He's not perfect but neither was Oliver in his draft year.

Given his size and spdeed, if he won more of the ball/played more midfield to date, he would be in the discussion for pick 2, not 8. I think he has the size, and shows more than enough in traffic, to transition into the midfield, unlike some of the others we've drafted and hope to move there. I think he's definitely worth taking. Absolutely worst case he will be a top line HBF i think (not a role player like Duggan), which are quite valuable in the current game.

Oliver is far from perfect now. Sure he has improved with experience and makes better decisions but he is basically a brute inside mid there to compete, get the ball and get it moving forward. And stop the opposition mids doing that.

Ginbey does look similar in playing style.

Who cares what the creator thinks?

To resolve this Ginbey issue, I propose that we call him GOAT, and that you can use either a soft or hard G for his nickname.
Why would you call someone who will be playing for another team GOAT.

Kinda what we do with all recruits. Make them fit in rather than adjust our current players roles to maximise the recruits output. So ******* annoying

You do realise that players need to be able to play multiple positions and that initially some dont have the strength nor endurance to start on ball?

And often there is an established pecking order.

You would be unhappy for Yeo and Ginbey to rotate on ball and in defense?

Or Chesser and Duggan to rotate off a wing and defense?

Clark, Hewett, Phillapou and Culley to rotate off the ball, HFF and the bench?

I would be because it means we've probably drafted Ginbey at pick 8

Ginbey smashed his way up the draft boards which does happen when they perform so well at the draft combine ..

If we are somehow disregarding players from interstate then Ginbey and Hewett at 8 and 12 likely happens.

Feel that either of those players at 8 would be ignoring better prospects. One will be there at 12 or even 15.
I hope we're not, we've had no real history of doing it before.
Would rather Hewett than Ginbey and I don't rate Hewett as a top ten pick.
