Just watched the Ginbey highlights.

I’ve been pronouncing his name with a hard g (like gin the drink), rather than a soft g.

Sounds weird. Delist.

...wait, gin is pronounced with a hard g? Thought it was the same sound as 'juniper', of which gin is derived from.

Gin is derived from wheat or barley. Juniper is the main flavour.

It's Winbey or Binbey goddam it!

Get Dustin Martin Jack Macrae vibes off Ginbey.

Hopefully if we select him he doesn't set a foot in defense. Said the same thing with SPS when we picked him up, that he needs to be mid only, and low and behold he's all over the shop with no set role and his form is the disappointing same as it was at Carlton.

Kinda what we do with all recruits. Make them fit in rather than adjust our current players roles to maximise the recruits output. So ****ing annoying

Can't say I've ever been keen on nothing sized medium forwards, the AFL is generally where they go to die.

Can quickly turn into another Hayden Crozier, Curtis Taylor cliche.

He'd want to have something pretty special in his game to warrant selection, even more so coming off an ACL injury.

Dare I say it.... MiDfIeLd PoTeNtIaL

Surely Aaron Edwards or Ben McKinley are the references you're looking for

As a side note, the name actually comes from the word Dutch 'Jenever', which is a juniper flavoured spirit that we now know as 'Gin'.

The English came across it during the 80 years war, when they went to fight the French alongside the dutch. The Dutch were all drinking it before going into battle and that's when the term 'Dutch Courage' was penned by the English.
