Get Mitch from Port, have JD show the Oscar Allen/MG forwardline a thing or two before calling time.

Leave English the * alone, let him clog someone else's salary cap.

Draft mids and half forwards like crazy.

Flag.

Here is the thing, this outside of a league leading FF is the hardest position to fill on the field in quality. Also almost any talented junior HF can go back and after a couple of years be a great HB. They almost always have great decision making, great overhead ability and foot skills. All you need to work on is their defensive game.

Wait........ In the modern game if one of your Half backs is shit defensively but is great reading the play, great overhead, makes great decisions and has great foot skills they don't even have to be defensively accountable........

**** if we could draft 6 highly talented HF's over the next 4 drafts I would happily do it. As long as we can secure one more top end tall forward talent and 1 more elite inside mid talent as well.

how're you feeling about the balance of the list overall, out of interest?

Well as it stands I know this all going to change over the coming months but if the draft was on the weekend from what we have seen early Nab and from last year and assuming a hell of a lot on final draft position and a heap of Bull shit sprinkled on top. This should make you smile

Pick 1 West Coast Harley Reid ( there’s your gun inside mid that can also play everywhere)

Trade in our future 1st for a pick in the top 10 plus a late 1st. Don’t ask me how this happens but this exercise is just to make everyone feel good.

Pick 8 West Coast Daniel Curtin ( there’s your key position)

Pick 17 West Coast Darcy Wilson.

Pick 19 West Coast Koltyn Tholstrup.

Pick 26 West Coast George Stevens.

Pick 37 West Coast Riley Hardeman

There’s your 4 quality flanker types

I’d be chuffed with that…..will be funny coming back to this in 5 months time 👍🏻

Hard to see us throwing the kitchen sink at English one year before he becomes a FA

Did lol at the source being “randoms”

Don't need the kitchen sink just a better offer than a single FA pick the following year.

We swap our future 2024 1st with Dogs plus get a future 2nd rounder?

We trade pick 2 for English plus Dogs 2023 1st around pick 10ish?

Then trade future 2nd plus a couple of 2023 3rds for Suns 2023 1st. Say pick 12.

Gain English plus pick 10 and Sun's pick 12.

Lose 2023 pick 2, two 3rds and a future 2nd.

Possibly we can haggle and keep a 3rd.

Hopefully we can throw in a player to help retain picks.

Personally I'd just wait for English to be a FA. Pick up another project ruck late in this draft. If desperate Lycett will be moved on and is a FA this season. Sign him for two years on low coin. Plan is he helps the AFL side in 2024 and if we land English as a FA he is WAFL support for kids and depth in 2025.

Mitch Cleary saying Eagles would be all over Dev Robertson and Lions should’ve traded him Last year when they had the upper hand. (Under contract)

It’s happening……

Based on what other players have moved for a 3rd rounder is all it should take. Acres a best 22 winger in a finals team, 3rd rounder to Blues.

Would be a very good trade for us and for Dev. Would play round 1 if fit.

And I'd love Tyler Brockman from the Hawks as well. Dream would be a drawn out negotiation and we swap Petrocelle for him.

Both players OOC and both on Eagles radar in their draft years. Brockman looks like a real talent.

Forward line with small / mediums of Ryan, Long, Brockman and Moir would be a real handful.

2nd for Georgiades. 3rd for Dev.

Leaves us with a top pick for Curtin and a decent 2nd for a hf.

Would be happy with that.
I don't understand the love for Georgiades, tbh.

Undersized KPF. We already have 2 of those (Waterman/Darling). Do we really need a third?

Is Curtin worth pick 1 or 2 though?

Makes sense to draft a tall forward but is that over paying?

Can see another pick split in play if we wanted Curtin and have pick 1,2 or 3.
From what I’ve seen around the place he’s rated as a top 5 prospect among a group of others who are all trailing Harley Reid.

So not overpaying if his form stays on course.

Yeah i agree. If Waterman has a solid year with 35-40 goals i dont see the need for Georgiades.

Rather we stick to the draft.

Agreed. Georgiades hasn't shown me anything that Waterman doesn't already have. We can't play both in the same team, so there is no point in recruiting him, only to force Waterman out the door.

We’re trading Darling for a first round pick though, remember.

A proven key position goal kicker with 10 years left in him at a bargain price?

Reckon we can squeeze him in.
1cm shorter than Waterman though.

Averages are fairly similar. Only thing going for him currently is he's 3 years younger.

Waterman's only played under the shadow of JK & JD, so it's been hard to get a handle on his form, as he's never really been played as a lead up FF for any sustained period of time.

Georgiades as a Darling replacement I can accept, but he's still got at least 2 more seasons in him.
