Think they are more likely to be pissed off and hump us silly while Taylor Walker gets free kick after free kick infront of goal really

Absolutely agree with the 30+ 1 year policy - especially when we're not in contention.

If we're in our window and scared a key cog like McGovern might leave then sure, solidify that with 2 years.

But as it stands now we pretty much know neither of them will leave (and if they do and we get something in return it's not a massive drama) - the biggest unknown is if they'll break down or not. Just seems a low percentage play list management wise.

JWilliams on the other hand is obviously going to be a player that takes a fair bit of time to develop (more than next year) - a 2 year contract would be the club telling him "hey we're going to give you that time and back you in" which I think he's earnt. 1 year feels more like he's playing for his career next season which feels off to me - and if he randomly does have a massive year next year he unlike Gov and Cripps actually has a go home factor to consider.

Id probably be tempted to put SPS onto the rookie list myself out of those 7

If 7 are gone then I think we need 2 trade targets I think as opposed to 1. I think we can 100% guarantee that one of Nick Bryan/Jordon Sweet will be one of those 2. Question is who will the other one be. Gut feel is Brockman despite a strong do.not.want but would much prefer a fricken midfielder of some sort.

I'm confident they will keep SPS, perhaps demoted to the rookie list.

He’s a gun key forward who performs in a s**t team. Very capable of kicking 60 goals a season in a half decent team. On top of that a quality bloke who is captain potential. Of course teams will be sussing him out given how poor we are.

Exactly.

Take it as a compliment. If they want him that badly we obviously hold 1 of the 6 elite players needed to build a flag team. So no waywe let him go. We just need to find another 4 or 5.

Unlikely. The narrative this year is all Carlton. That includes a deep finals run and Curnow winning the Coleman and being the face of AFL in 2024
 
Ive learnt today also I need to check out players Instagram pages before I decide if we should offer them a contract or want them or not

Now Ive seen Robertsons instagram page I knew their was 0 percent chance he was joining the Eagles

I could have saved myself alot of heartache and posts of me saying we should get him if I just went to that page a few months ago

But aside from her being cute, if they’ve got a good thing going I’m sure she’d be very supportive in moving west for the betterment of his career…
Sounds more unlikely than likely at this stage but if he comes cheap he’d be a great addition to our young midfield. We could definitely use a big bodied leader like him to take some of the heat off the likes of Hewitt, Ginbey and hopefully Reid!
