Good on Chesser for getting his and hopefully in the fullness of time it works out to be a bargain, but at face value signing a bloke for 5 years at a club before he has even played a game and while he has a long term injury is bad business.

If the club had reason to back in their recruiting judgment and medical staff in recent history then they'd have earned the benefit of the doubt but they haven't earned that, so I'm very skeptical of this.

Four years I think.

Surely Darling provides us with the greatest draft capital. 29, has a good 3-4 years ahead, but won't be in our next flag team (most likely). Is on the outer with the club and fans, maybe he wants a change of pace? Dogs need a KPF for a few years while their young guys develop, for instance.
If he doesn't want to leave we can just send someone from the club round to knock on his door and chat to him about it

Scott Selwood to Triple D to Crippa to a two on one turned into a goal by Tunbridge.

How good was it though?

These days it'll be West to Clark to Langdon to a two on one turned into a rebound out of our forward 50 cos some dumb kent tried to lay a bump instead of laying a tackle.

Should get Tunbridge as tackling coach.

Might have half the team suspended on a weekly basis but it'll be worth it.

Also just wanted to say that I think Witherden is an absolute complete waste of time. Will always be slow, will always be a poor defender and his kicking isn't good enough to cover those deficiencies. Combined with his at least 2 absolute trash kicks that result in goals every week he needs to go sooner rather than later.
Agree with these could he transition to midfield?

Witherden, no I don't think so. not great one on one, slow and seems much better reading the play coming at him than making the play going into 50. Whilst we haven't seen much of it I dont rate his bodywork or ground level play.

He probably does, he probably doesnt want to move and he certainly isnt replaceable structually. Also he isnt a key forward, in reality he is more third tall these days and this impacts his value to others.

I've ranted on this before. We draft kids that have an AFL trait or two. Then we refuse to let them bring that trait to the table as we dutifully "round them out"as footballers.

...and we get left with yet another nothing player with now zero AFL attributes.

Exhibit A - Brainsworth. Most contested possessions at the 18's carnival from recollection. Never let near a contest for almost his entire time on the list and stripped him down to a whippet so he had essentially no chance against other contested AFL players.
It's the bane of my draft following existence: watching teams draft a player who excels in an on field position only to be stonewalled and never given an opportunity in said position, the cherry on top being the forced conversion to becoming a flanker.

The ‘Naitanui leaves to chase flag’ story that I’ve been pushing for 6 months is finally gathering some momentum…

Really hope that doesn’t happen…I can pretty much live with anyone else going but listening to dickhead Vics claiming NN for the rest of his days….ugh….

I guess we’ll see how loyal the big man is now.

He'll go from overrated to the best ruckman of all time very quickly.

Nic Nat has 2 years and has been an absolute champion and it was such ashame he missed in 2018

I wouldn't be grudge him esp if someone like the dogs were desperate and have us a pretty good pick

Unrestricted free agent, if he leaves the dogs don't have to give us a pick

If there's anyone who deserves a flag it's Nic Nat, and he's definitely not getting one here
