Also just wanted to say that I think Witherden is an absolute complete waste of time. Will always be slow, will always be a poor defender and his kicking isn't good enough to cover those deficiencies. Combined with his at least 2 absolute trash kicks that result in goals every week he needs to go sooner rather than later.

I'd say his only chance of making it is as a second ruck, chopout forward - assuming we want to continue playing 2 rucks in the post-Nic era (whenever that starts).

He's not going to displace Barrass, Gov or Edwards down back - then we have Bazzo developing also.

Allen and Darling up front, with Williams x2 developing. He can maybe squeeze into that lineup for a year or two, but guys will go past him.

Ahhhhh the optimism!

The only concern with Bailey is that we are not really seeing a big pick up in "footy smarts", things like positioning etc.

The only concern with Bailey is that we are not really seeing a big pick up in "footy smarts", things like positioning etc.

Jamieson has given the team a lift past few weeks looks a likely AFL player which is pleasing given our season so far . Bailey is tough unit which will help the club also ....both to stay in the team hopefully.

Good on Chesser for getting his and hopefully in the fullness of time it works out to be a bargain, but at face value signing a bloke for 5 years at a club before he has even played a game and while he has a long term injury is bad business.

If the club had reason to back in their recruiting judgment and medical staff in recent history then they'd have earned the benefit of the doubt but they haven't earned that, so I'm very skeptical of this.

I am unsure what AFL traits a player who is weak, slow and unable to kick a footy at U 12 level has.

But he was somehow able to get more contested possies than anyone else in his peer group at 18's.
