Strong rumour... Adam Cooney is sooking like a baby at the moment and really wants to go home. Has put the hard word on the Bulldog coaching panel to trade him at the end of the year or he will sit out the year.

Under his current 2 year agreement, he can only get there if he is traded (not via draft), so he has threatened to sit out the year to force the scrays into trading him.

He also doesnt like the blokes he is playing with there, regarding the senior blokes (West, Smith, Johnson and Darcy) as being selfish and only looking for themselves when in possession.

Well, I'd have him at Port.

WHO DOES?????????????????

If he only signed a two year deal at the beginning of this year then the Bullies are not allowed to trade him. Or at least that is what I thought the rule was?? Isn't it called the "Heffernan" rule or something??

Do you intend to come last to pick him up in the draft? Or maybe you could offer Mahoney as trade bait?

Heard a similiur sorta thing about Cooney and wanting to go back to Adelaide.
I pretty much know 99% that at the end of the 2 years he will be going back to Adelaide that 1 is definite.
As far as Cooney not liking his senior teamates what a load of crap!!! The guy has been very well looked after by the older blokes and im sure there is nothing but great friendships with them and most others at the club.

Anyhow is Cooney was to ask for a trade andwanting to go back to Adelaide it wouldnt be a bad thing, he is by far going to be the worst number 1 pick since Des Headland and Travis Jhonston and thats being kind to Cooney.
Get rid of him now while he might be worths omething cause if his given the chance to play alot of senio footy and dissapoint the footy public clubs will be turned off by him and his value will decrease.

cheers

The Heffernan rule is not being traded immediately after signing a new contract. Cooney could be traded if both parties wanted to part ways.

Would think though Dogs would play serious hard ball with this bloke to keep him for next year at the very least.

Or they might want to look at trade offers while they're not obliged to accept one.

If true, the doggies are going to half to do what Carlton did at the end of last year, or stay at the bottom like Freo and St Kilda for a few years.

every single player wants to go home mid way through their first year. judd has admitted he did, pavlich has admitted he woulnt mind getting traded, nearly every victorian eagles has admitted after they have signed how much they are home sick. its no big deal, he'll work through it and stay.

tige19 - you are an idiot

No wonder Richmond are such a bunch of losers with supporters like you.

You have a very short memory fool. Des Hedland polled 16 votes in the 2003 Brownlow medal count.

Des is a highly talented kid who has been battling injuries all year.

Over here in the West, we don't jump off as quickly as you do at Richmond. Hedland will be a star of the future.

By the way - we want Coghlan back - you can keep the rest - including your $600,000 per year man - Gasper. talk about a waste of money

Difference is that being at the Dogs would not be fun.

When he got there they had no ground to train on as they forget to water it. Their facilities are ordinary, they pay less than 100% of the cap, are near the bottom, living on AFL support and have a coach who seems to be un-inspiring.

Players at WC, Freo, Brisbane etc do not have to put up with all of the above. Pretty hard on a kid away from home who is super competitive.

Tige19 you moron, obviously you have never watched him play so stop talking crap like an absolute amateur, I swear to God you sound like my girlfriend when she talks about football, you have absolutely no idea about what a good footballer is let alone a good prospect. If you had seen Cooney play you would have noticed what strength this kid has, he can get the hard ball and will keep his feet when tackled and dish off to a running player... As far as I know these are sought after characteristics. So, all you morons stop talking crap and spreading rumours about something you know nothing about, and please stop talking about who will be a good player and who will not 'cause you're just embarassing yourselves...

Morgoth, if Cooney cares about fascilities more than representing a proud club like the Bulldogs and possibly some day wearing the number 3 on his back then he should go... Following in the footsteps of greats like Whitten or singing Freo here we go, I know what I'd choose, even if the changerooms were lined with gold... Pathetic post...
