Yeah because russia hasn't been struggling with their economy or riots in the streets?..

He could be right but he works with the US government and painted a very bleak future for China & Russia and a pretty rosey one for the US, so it could also be propaganda.

Spose we‘ll know soon enough because he said that China will be finished this decade.

If anyone listens to Slow Rogan and takes his opinion as fact beyond anything UFC, Bears, being a ****in w***er. Have a long bard look at yourself.

The campaigner has been factually incorrect for almost 2 years when its outside of his “expertise”. He even had all his troll minions attack a doctor over a fake tweet. His guests are cookers, he’s a cooker and anyone that listens to his shit other than analysis is a cooker too. He speaks shit, he’s a dumb campaigner and quite frankly, im sick to death of dumb campaigners having influences on society

the USA has their own major problems right now too.

That dude says the exact same thing about Russia.
Just bullshit fact checking “we dont have data but it’s undoubtably worse” what the **** does that even mean? You can’t be chucking out shit like that. **** I hate Joe Rogan. That clip was complete arse about nonsense. People in their 20’s and 30’s cant buy anything BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS BOUGHT already! FMD. I can’t do this shit, hurts my head

I like him. It just comes down to expectation. He doesn’t pretend to be an expert but just likes to talk to interesting people. He’s kind of just fallen into the position of having the largest platform in the world through years of talking shit, 60% of the time hes either smoking weed, drinking or even both.

I don’t get the hate tbh. There’s far worse out there. Actual journalists and news stations get stuff wrong all the time, they usually just double down on the bullshit though.

Yeh, and with such a large platform whether he likes or you like it comes some kind of responsibility. Look at this for ****s sake (check attachments) He earns 100m a year from Spotify and he can’t afford a fact checker? That poor doctor, a ****ing doctor was thrown to the slaughter.

“Ohh he is just having a toke on spliff and talking shit with interesting people” thats an absolute cop out. I can respect that if a few hundred thousand people listened. People are dumb and believe every ****ing word that comes out of his mouth.

I don’t really give a **** if he wants to be a dumb campaigner or if people like dumbing down and listening to conspiracies or about DMT or steroids. I don’t care. What I care about is dumb campaigners influencing society on this kind of cooked level.

He spits everything out as “facts”. The father son boxing match. He’s been wrong for 2 ****ing years. He’s wrong about steroids, he’s wrong anout vaccines, he’s wrong about Elon, he’s wrong when he speaks on anything other than UFC and his personal life.

He needs and must take responsibility for what he says. Just fact check it before he releases shit

Jamie needs to find a new gig.

I don’t care about Slow Rogan, I dont care that he is rich by people listening to his garbage. All I care about is false and misinformation being presented as fact in front of millions of people.

You know what, it’s probably spotify, google and tiktok that allow such bullshit to be spread. 90% their fault 10% Slow Rogans fault for being a mouth piece of bullshit.

I listen to other comedians podcasts and they get shit wrong all the time but no one cares.

Not with the influence and reach he does. And Joe is not a comedian. Ive watched his stand up, not a comedian.

You wouldn’t see Lex Fridman run with as many * ups as Rogan does

Funny you mention Lex Friedman, he got slaughtered by Nassim Taleb the other day, reckons he’s a fraud. Each to their own I guess.

And as far as comedy goes, I have heard people recently make the outrageous claim that Dave Chappell isn’t funny, so each to their own as well there.

I wouldn’t suggest he was “slaughtered” merely a vague attack by a pompous knob.

Sam Harris is right about his arrogance. That comes across loud and clear even through his writing. Harris is another polarising person though. All these people have haters and fans.

This is an interesting conversation but I reckon we should take it to the random chat if we go much further.

What’s your take on attacking people like John Ioannidis or Robert Clancy?

This is a good read about Ioannidis.

Unfortunately many millions got DUPED and over 6mil killed off including Shane Warne. The criminal cartel have exposed themselves and yet folk are still oblivious &/or are in deep denial. No point arguing/ discussing the facts. Do your own research (the WEF terrorists spell it out for you). Burnett Institute insider (no longer working there) disclosed Placebo was in 60% of the second round of jabs in late 2021. Those who got lucky and know it, will be thankful. Detoxing is required otherwise.

The purebloods will survive.

You are 2x / 3x more likely to get infected with COVID than someone who's unvaccinated with natural immunity.
Interested to know who gaslighted you with such BS.:drunk: Btw the Pfizer jabs are a bioweapon.>> Cold. hard. fact.<< Even the Pfizer CEO admits it'll kill (read between the lines) 50% of world population. Btw I had my real vaccines in April 2019. Can't qualify for anti-vaxxer.

No, it doesn't. We have laws which cover what people are responsible for, like incitement laws, and he doesn't do anything to violate the law.

Look at this for s sake (check attachments) He earns 100m a year from Spotify and he can’t afford a fact checker? That poor doctor, a ****** doctor was thrown to the slaughter.

It is a podcast, it is not a medical journal. I think you are referring to an incident where they saw a fake tweet and thought it was real, he later apologised for the mistake. He has dumb followers who attack people, he doesn't condone it. A lot of famous people have dumb people who attack people they disagree with. It is the fault of the people who attack, not the famous person unless they agitate their followers to do something reprehensible, you can't really blame someone who is just doing a podcast to talk about politics or something.

“Ohh he is just having a toke on spliff and talking s*t with interesting people” thats an absolute cop out. I can respect that if a few hundred thousand people listened. People are dumb and believe every ****** word that comes out of his mouth.

From what I can take from the way people react about Rogan and others, they are more upset that they are popular despite campaigns to deplatform them than they are about anything specific that he has said. If someone wants to not take a vaccine, not wear a mask and shoot up Ivermectin then who cares? Masks and the vaccine do not stop the spread of the virus. Everyone in China wears masks and 600m have been infected almost overnight.

I don't really find his his podcasts that entertaining, I will start to watch 1 in 200-300 of his podcasts and I usually don't make it more than 15-20 minutes into it. Some are really good though but it is hit or miss. It is not that I hate him or dislike that he is popular, he just doesn't have the intellectual reach to take conversations beyond surface levels and he tends to dominate conversations too much with his simple take on them. I much prefer someone like Lex Fridman or others who have a more scientific background. The problem with most podcasts is they are too myopic in they focus on something very specific. Rogan has a lot of variety and I think people who watch/listen to it probably aren't exposed to a lot of people he talks to normally.

I think if you look at the positives, Joe can be a gateway drug into looking into more interesting people. If we define anyone's worth based on the lowest common denominator and what dickheads do then we would never do anything because there are dickheads at the ready to spoil everything.

Dumb people are going to be dumb no matter who is around. If we are going to get upset at people who manipulate and take advantage of dumb people then religious institutions and politics should be the first stops. These are industries built on the exploitation of dumb people.

I think what people get upset about is when other players enter the market and start ****ing around with the normal social order.

He spits everything out as “facts”. The father son boxing match. He’s been wrong for 2 ******* years. He’s wrong about steroids, he’s wrong anout vaccines, he’s wrong about Elon, he’s wrong when he speaks on anything other than UFC and his personal life.

He is wrong about a lot but he has raised a lot of awareness about issues and topics, he is a bit of a fly in the ointment that people, like you it seems, are prepared to disregard any and all of the positives he might have on people and just focus on the negatives.

Even though he had some shit takes during covid for example, he was a strong advocate for people taking charge of their health and see if they deficient in vitamins and minerals that are generally vital for your immune system to fight off anything that is bad for you. I think this has been the single greatest failure of pretty much any health system and this should have been apparent when we saw data come in from people with darker pigmentation who generally have vitamin D deficiency in western countries because they are indoor too much and don't get enough vitamin D from limited exposure to the sun.

If we put even a token effort to encourage fatties to lose weight, to get people on supplements, to eat better, get out more, etc we would have saved lives. That doesn't mean you don't get the vaccine or don't use a mask in crowded places in the public, but we didn't do all we could to save lives and if you didn't actively look for alternative opinions then you life is dependant on the few people in politics who are making the calls. When I spoke to my doctor, he made it pretty clear there was political pressure put on him that prevented him using his experience to provide medical advice. You had politicians calling the shots instead of medical people.

I think a crusade for truth and uniformity of opinion is a dangerous path given we aren't perfect, even in medicine and in science, we are wrong a lot of the time. As we have seen from politicians, they will lie to you and potentially kill you for the greater good, like all our politicians lied to us about masks at the start when they were in short supply.

There is a dangerous level of distrust in politicians, in scientists and in medical people, it is because they are prepared to lie and put our lives at risk when they consider it to be "in the greater good". People are just starting to ask themselves, when is my life expendable for the greater good and am I prepared to for the consequences that you or your loved ones may die for the greater good.

At what point is your life or a loved one's life too valuable? You need to ask yourself that because the bar seems to be pretty low for politicians, a shortage of masks due to their incompetence seems to be a low enough bar for them.

He was one of the central people to the story. He attacked John’s work and didn’t understand it.
Maybe I’ll just leave John’s words about Meyerowitz-Katz.

The evaluations by ICCRT4 and Meyerowitz-Katz1 have multiple flaws as well as eligibility, design, and analytical choices that consistently lead to higher IFR estimates. This raises questions of technical competence and/or bias.

In multiple main media interviews and quotes Meyerowitz-Katz is presented professionally as an “epidemiologist”, but apparently he has not received yet a PhD degree as of this writing and he is still a student at the University of Woolongong in Australia. Neither he nor his co-author of the evaluation (apparently another PhD student) had published any peer-reviewed systematic review or meta-analysis on any topic prior to the pandemic. By the end of 2019, Meyerowitz-Katz had published 2 PubMed-indexed papers (both on diabetes) that had received 2 citations and 1 selfcitation in Scopus. Meyerowitz-Katz is very active also in Twitter through an account called Health Nerd (56,800 tweets as of January 19, 2021). The Twitter account has interesting, smart content with strong advocacy, often supporting worthy causes. The same account has also been generating tweetorial content reviewing various COVID-19 papers, including many critical/highly negative comments on my papers, e.g. on the IFR evaluation.5 For fairness, readers may consult these Twitter criticisms of Meyerowitz-Katz and of another prolific Twitter critic with highly similar views as Meyerowitz-Katz (Atomsk’s Sanakan [64,200 tweets as of January 19, 2021], self-described as “Christian; Science, Denialism Debunked, Philosophy, Manga, Death Metal, Pokémon, Immunology FTW; Fan of Bradford Hill + Richard Joyce”, also supporting several worthy causes, e.g. debunking denialism). The tweetorials have been posted in Pubpeer (PubPeer - The infection fatality rate of COVID-19 inferred from seropr...). Comparison against the present manuscript may hopefully help knowledgeable readers generate an informed opinion as to the merits of arguments raised. I don’t have a personal Twitter account, but was alerted to the negative tweetorials by Meyerowitz-Katz several months ago. At that time, the name of the Twitter account owner was not obviously visible (the photo showed an unrecognizable figure with big glasses and a cat), but Meyerowitz-Katz seemed to use the Twitter account prolifically to promote his own work and criticize work contradicting his work. The identity of the Health Nerd Twitter account has become transparent now, since the owner has added a photo of him (wearing a T-shirt that writes “Trust me, I am an epidemiologist”). The identity of the reverberating Atomsk’s Sanakan Twitter account is still unclear (to me at least) and its relationship to Meyerowitz-Katz, if any, is unknown.

Overall, one potential explanation is that the flaws of the Meyerowitz-Katz evaluation may simply reflect lack of experience and technical expertise of otherwise well-intentioned and smart authors with a heightened sense of advocacy during a serious pandemic that represents undoubtedly a major crisis. It is well-known that most published systematic reviews and meta-analyses in the literature have substantial flaws anyhow. For students performing their first evidence synthesis ever, choosing a topic that requires advanced expertise due to unusual cross-design features, difficult methodological challenges and convoluted and often erratic data, a highly-flawed final product should not be surprising. Perusal of the voluminous Twitter comments of Health Nerd similarly demonstrates immediately the wonderful enthusiasm, but also lack of adequate expertise required to conduct such analyses in any rigorous way. Nevertheless, it is worrisome that trustworthy media like Scientific American and The Guardian have espoused Meyerowitz-Katz’s views and serious organizations may guide their planning based on a flawed paper. Meyerowitz-Katz is a columnist also at the American Council on Science and Health (Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz), a pro-industry advocacy group. He reports no conflicts of interest.
