That’s what’s happened to me for the last two weeks. Just because my wife travelled overseas. Working from home is not much good for someone hands-on like myself.
Being at home, hands on, that can work if you use your imagination.

AFL have been informed by the Govt & Chief Medical officer that Australia’s most dangerous time atm is from around 10 April till early May. This is the timeframe that most likely effects games being closed to the public for fear of spreading . This was as if 48 hrs ago

How do you know this?

Yeah, but wait till the US goes crazy -- a privatised health care system where half the population can't afford to pay for hospitals, an emergency health crisis organisation disbanded by Trump (before this began), and a president who says, "It's not that bad." :)

People moving outside is actually worse too.
The biggst issue isn't to do with health care systems - although that will stop people going to doctors and increase spread. Their hospitals run at close to full capacity at the best of times. Their medical facilities are not in a position to cope with the large extra numbers needing a high level of care that could be the result of large scale spread.

Wow just picturing in my mind, Anzac Day, the two sides line up for the last post, the Australian anthem, you can here a pin drop.........there is no one at the G due to lock out of crowds.....unimaginable really.......

It would be wonderful to not hear absolute idiots shouting “go pies” or “go bombers” before the end of the minutes silence.

So Anzac day will be played with only the seagulls watching on?

Why would it be delayed?
Might be played without the public in the stadium, but Tv/radio contracts dictate that the game goes on.

Seems there is every chance the season wont start next week. In my opinion, it will be go ahead with the season next week, with games played in empty stadiums, or delay the start, and stretch the season into October.

I may be a bit different than some here as I'm lucky to ever get to 1-2 games a year, but I'd much prefer the league to go ahead with empty stadiums before seeing any suspensions, postponement, cancellations and so on.

The biggest concern would be teams having to travel via plane, via airports, staying at hotels, etc.

I know we're talking fit athletes but at the end of the day some of these guys will have very young kids etc. at home so they can't be too safe.

Might start the season, but just like the nba, as soon as 1 player tests positive for the virus, that locks that club down which then locks the comp down.

At least we had the Marsh Cup.

Watching on tv yes, but what a strange feeling for those players who have played previous Anzac day games in front of 90,000 people, to playing in a empty stadium!!
No doubt.
But empty stadium sporting contests have been taking place overseas for a week or so already.
And due to political situations these empty stadium contests have been going on for decades in other countries.
The fact that the virus is a contact virus means any public event should/will be shut down.
This means sporting events, concerts, live theatre and movie theatres.
The safety of the many outweigh the wishes of the few.
