What happens to VFL Games?

VFL, VAFA, Suburban, etc, might have to fall in line with the AFL's decision.

100%. It’s either on with no fans or off. Less and less likely that it’s on.

They had the pre-sale for AFL members for the rounds that include Anzac Day.

I logged in to Ticketek straight away and got through and had perfect seats on the wing within a minute.

This is highly unusual and I reckon it shows that people expect that game not to involve crowds, or people are isolating themselves.

Mate there's zero chance of round 1 even having crowds.. Let alone Anzac day. Small chance round 1 even happens.

The AFL should consider a 17 round season without the byes. Delay for two months.

They are having meetings today with the government about it, no way the nsw government will allow crowds there, it'd be political suicide after victoria closed the grand prix

Apparently everyone at AFL club land is getting messages saying that IF (when) a player or official contacts Corona the season will immediately be suspended (cancelled).

So even if round 1 goes ahead we're playing for nothing as this season has 0 chance of happening

Trouble is it can take up to 2 weeks for anything to show up.

It would be a big free kick if the NRL are still playing and permitting fans entry while the AFL bans supporters.

I would get to more storm games if Collingwood wasn’t an option.

The season is severely compromised already.
Would like the option of matches commencing next week with no crowds, purely as an AFL devotee.
As soon AS A (surely this will happen)
player develops symptoms automatic 14 day sanction and replace player?
How the hell can every player successfully avoid this virus away from their club, in the normal day to day community and life is going to be the main issue.
What do they have to live in a bubble for six months.
The season could be stuffed.....

Is it though? What happens to all the admin staff if it gets shutdown. Does the club still pay them? If they stop getting paid how do they pay mortgages? If they can’t pay mortgages what then. If they continue to be paid how long can the club sustain that without receiving attendance revenue?

It’s the most delicate of things and unfortunately economics has to play a role.

No doubt... That's what taxes and pandemic bonds are for.... Unfortunately, we either do it tough $$ or a whole bunch of people die. What would you do?
