How many cases have we had in Melbourne? 30?

It doesn't appear to be spreading here like in Italy.
A person who attended a music festival tested positive. It is said to spread every 2.3 people per infection. The only way to stay under the curve and avoid a surge on our health care system is to stop mass gatherings

21 with 14 active cases remaining. This link was posted the other day and I've found it useful.

Perceived higher injury rate and a lack of atmosphere.

And a general feeling of being in a poorly designed and cheaply built stadium. Secondary to the game of course. And polar opposite of the MCG.

I've never understood the angst about Docklands. I've always felt we're less likely to win there but I'm pretty sure the reality is we have a pretty good W/L% there despite my perceptions. Other than that though I've always found it a good venue to watch footy. Particularly night games where you don't have to worry if the morons will shut the roof or not. Maybe it's because it saves me traversing the city after the drive down from Benders.
Tends to be a tad cold; can be a bit soulless otherwise If we win it’s fine.

Government has already flagged this as a likely outcome. If it’s just one or two weeks that’s fine, shift the season back. Anymore and you just play without crowds.

I personally don’t see any real issue, been travelling the last two weeks back and forth there are fewer and fewer people on planes, it’s just bizarre. Not all that different to the common flu really.

Yeah nah.... Stop talking sh@#.

Even if we use the conservative rate of 1% mortality rate (which we certainly won't be if our healthcare system doesn't hold up... which is likely), it's still 10x the rate of the flu.

Even if you fit the age group where you may not be affected as much, start thinking about others and get your head out of the sand.

Agree.

I'm not going in round 1 regardless if there's a ban or not, and I suspect I'm not alone on this.
Sadly I don't think anyone will be going for round one or the foreseeable future for that matter.

If we manage to eke a season out of the shit storm that is coming I will be seriously surprised.

So might as well Call the Season Off?

No point in doing anything that drastic until it's required.

The big stakeholders have far too much invested to call it off based on probability, but realistically some players will come down with it.

I can't see how it's viable with teams in quarantine 😞.

It was strange watching the women's soccer in Vietnam last night - empty stadium. That is after the lights went off after the first minute of play.

First empty stadium then darkness.

Not to mention the teams who have to use planes twice a week... Can't imagine the AFLPA looking on that too well.
