Toast CROWS get their man Don Pyke named Adelaide coach

I have a feeling that a lot of people will be a bit dissappointed by his media work. Tough gig to follow Walshy! But I have faith he will be a good coach. Just win games pykey!

Simpson at WCE is very awkward with the media, but he has done pretty well with the team. I know which one I'd prefer proficiency

He's not awkward with the media, I think he comes across well.

As for Pyke, where has this belief come from that he isn't good with the media? I've heard him interviewed and he comes across well.

of all a head coach's duties, his performance in press conferences would have to rank least important by a mile.

yes, Walshy oozed character and I loved hearing the man speak Thursday mornings on youtube, but that is a bonus, not a requirement. Do we really need to have such a long conversation on this? Now? Why not wait and see how he handles it before making comments about how he might not be up to it. Pretty sure Walsh was copping the same baseless criticism about his "media abilities" this time last year and they couldn't have been more wrong.

in before "but its the off-season and we have to talk about something."

Jamo has been doing a lot of work with past players and getting them back involved in the club. I'm sure he's been working on Edwards too.
Macca isn't involved at the club on a day to day basis though, he's more invested in his own charity work, which the Crows obviously support him with. Wouldn't imagine it'd be an issue at all.

You may be right. Hope you are. I'd like to see Edwards back with us.

The portrayal of Pyke's Penetrating Gaze is somewhat perplexing. I'm presuming it's not post Patty posturising but more a personal portrayal of perennial power being a prelude to propelling the players to a premiership.

Probably.

Macca has an office on the 2nd floor at AFC headquarters though.

Weirdly I am a left footer naturally but I was taught to kick on my right! I did Rhythmic Gymnasts for years before that so that sport fully teaches you to be ambidextrous.
My late father-in-law was right handed but kicked the footy as a lefty and played tennis as a lefty.

All players should have a trademark celebration and their own song that get's played when they score... much like then a wrestler or boxer is entering the ring.
That would required the ground crew to have a ****ing clue as to who kicked it yeah? Then the ability to lock and load said song instantaneously. Probably ok for a set shot where they'd have time to prepare, but for the snaps? Impossible.

Not flamboyant enough for some by the sound of it.

Must say I loved Pykes press conference, for mine came across as very calm and in control, with a strong football knowledge and idea about where we were going. He isn't the character that Walsh was, but I was just as happy with his press performance.

I wasn't being serious.
