I think what initially doesn't sit right with me, is the yellow-orange-red gradient design in the footy world immediately conjures thoughts of this...

That jumper has always been a bit of a joke jumper in my mind, so when done as an ANZAC jumper just feels a little off.

People outside the footy world might not be influenced by the WC jumper though.

Something about using ANZAC day to boost jumper sales is a bit off to me.

Not just ours, but across the league.

Would they still wear these jumpers as a tribute if they couldn't sell them?

They are giving off a signed jumper to each RSL in the state of SA. (118 of them apparently) and it’s up to the RSL to display them or sell them off to help finances. Whether they sell them to the public also don’t counteract the positives imo

It's up there with the white raptor head and white murder of crows
A lot of people not happy with the design. However my dad never met his grand father, who died in WWII. To see the crows commemorate the Anzacs and furthermore those that defended this country is something that my dad is chuffed with. The actual design is secondary to what it represents imo. I love it

That's one of the worst jumpers we've ever had

I acknowledge its great that we have attempted to celebrate ANZAC day in this way.

My Thoughts:
The image on the jumper completely ruins the entire premise. Are we celebrating army musicians or soldiers? We should have definitely put on an iconic image, here is an example which is infinitely better than someone playing a bugle. Could have used an image celebrating the light horse or anything else. Clearly this is a decision made to appease parents. Probably even an AFL directive to avoid any controversy even though it is ANZAC day.

The design of the jumper isn't too bad, I think had a better image been chosen it would have made it infinitely better. The colouring was probably chosen for the specific purpose of highlighting the image. which is supposed to resemble a dawn service. So to that aspect It can be excused. I would not buy this top purely because it should be a soldier tribute not a bugle tribute and i don't think we could have picked a more censored image.

Edit: i get the bugle is an essential part of ANZAC day and the one minute silence with the last post blaring is definitely the image everything thinks about when talking about what happens on ANZAC day. But the whole day is a tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed for their country. This should have been the focus, not a dawn service. Thats a tribute to a tribute.

It’s fine, serves its purpose of commemorating the day/supporting the ANZAC appeal, at least it’s not a Wests Tigers situation.

Don’t like the dumb O’Neills different coloured collar thing appearing just like on the Gather Round guernsey, if it was the navy cuffs and collars like on the Indigenous guernsey it’d be better. Sill holding out for one day hopefully when the home guernsey goes navy cuffs and collar instead of gold 🤤
