2nds Crows in SANFL season 2017

Rick was only ever about 6'1", 6'2". Very lucky I got to see both play.
Mots goes to every Sturt game, always smiling and good for a joke.

Was in a restaurant years ago and noticed Peter Motley at another table with some guys. A bit later he came to our table and asked for my autograph. I was thinking WTF then noticed the guy behind him knew me and put him up to it as a joke. Told a few funnies as well. Great guy

Yes I have seen this. But thats from the Advertiser and Port. I havent seen anything from the SANFL. I just want to know who we can select as our Marquee. Does it have to be an ex Crow. Can we still select 2 un drafted players like Lever and Murphy last year.

I believe we can still pick up 2 undrafted players (Port already have), but I doubt we'll get a marquee signing.

Phil Harper has responded. We are under the same rule as Port but dont have a leadership player eligible. They have to be straight off our list and over 28. LOL. Should have been Dmac

I also asked Phil about the recruiting of Interstaters like Murphy and Lever last year. We are allowed to recruit 4 this year. We are looking like we will only use one though. A bloke called James Lonergan from Sydney University

Another response just now. This time from the SANFl. I sent lots of emails. They said both Port and Crows can have a leadership player ( although Harper said Crows dont have anyone eligible). Also that they can list a maxium of 4 interstate 19 year olds for a period of two years.

Another response from Harper after I replied to him saying thanks and how unfair it was.

His response is below. Loved it and I wish we took a stand but we dont really care too much.

Well Port have same rules now as well but they already had Summerton but they “beat the system” as they signed him as a 26 year old & paid him $400 a game (under the rules)& then when he turned 28 they were allowed to pay him whatever they wanted so they paid him a lot more in the third year to make it up & continue to .


However we don’t get too caught up in what they are doing as yes it may be seen as unfair


They have a leadership player & we don’t

They have home games & we don’t

They pay NIL to play in the comp & we pay $425000


The key for us is to put a program together that develops our players to play good AFL Football when they are called up – That is our key focus .


But yes there deal for a variety of reasons is probably better than ours .

Damn. CEY will be 3 years too young for 2019 then.

Should have used Thommo in that role last year though.

And all I could find on Jackson Lonergan is he's listed as playing half-back and was studying personal training.
