No but they should have been doing the best thing for the club....
All in sundry should be aiming at playing senior footy. IF they are good enough, they should be straight in there.
I am sick of this argument, For the last time. IF ANYONE AT THIER RESPECTIVE CLUBS - EITHER COACH, PLAYER, BOARD MEMBER etc puts a Reserves/u19/Club18 side before the senior side, they should take a good hard look at themselves.
Senior footy is what it is all about.
Can we close this case, this is my final argument.

TT. I agree with you regarding the senior football is the lifeblood of each club. and each kid should aim to play the highest standard possible. That's how i was brought up and that's obviously how you were, but not every kid who plays football lives and bleeds for the club they play for, believe it or not some just play footy for fun. but Maybe we need to ask 2 questions here, was it the kids who didn't want to play or was it the coach who wouldn't let them. Seeing as though others from the team stepped up to the u/19's it leads me to think that it was the players choice. is that right or wrong? One thing i do know about Fab is that he never pressures anyone and lets them make their own mind up. Classic example is one of your players who considered coming across this year, a little pressure and he would have jumped, however our coach told him to take time in his decision to make sure he knew what he was doing, result: he's still playing at your club. All because our coach allows the individual to make up their own mind. That's the sort of guy he is.
Obviously I am having a busy day @ work but looking @ how many players have been used by each side year to date re-enforces that if you don't have your best cattle on the park due to injuries / unavailabilities etc you are going to struggle.
Werribee - 37 players used
ESL - 31
Banyule - 35
GE - 36
Ivanhoe - 44
OW - 40
OP - 43
TP - 40
Bent - 43
SMS - 44

So are Banyule pretenders....................
They cant defend themselves on this thread so what do people think????
If GE, Ivanhoe or OW pull their finger out - its could be a vital 4 points to get that 4th spot and perhaps another crack at the Bears...
Drifter you're assuming ESL will roll Banyule in the return clash and therefore all but guarantee a top 2 finish. Could easily go the other way and GE, OW, IV etc. may be having another crack at ESL.
Also ESL still to face Werribee at Werribee no easy task.....
There is word around that The Big Duke may return next year to help out the struggling St.Mary's/Salesians along with a few other stars from the past................
Who has the most supporters? Glen Eira were vocal & the worst, Werribee
Couple of questions to pose for some discussion:
Who has the biggest home ground advantage? Werribee & Banyule
Who are the best opposition blokes? None OW not too bad
Who are the worst opposition blokes? Anyone who beats ESL
Who has the most supporters? Glen Eira were vocal & the worst, Werribee
Who has the best away facilities? Banyule & Bentleigh
Best Clubrooms - Banyule & Old Westbourne & Bentleigh
Drifter, are you basing this on what you have seen this year? or have you always had issues with GE supporters. Remember that you did play us on rivalry round this year and we did have a past players luncheon on that day, I remember you posting at the time that you had an issue with one particular supporter that day.
Just bringing this up because generally I think we would proably have one of the better supporter bases in the comp! Or is that a biased opinion.
Fair enough Gruffalo - just raising a question
No way do I dismiss Banyule in any game but if you are from the Bears you must be a bit concerned by the blow out loss at home last start....
It seems Banyule definitely match up better against ESL than Werribee looking at results. Would you agree with any of that?
Every game is tough - we have already played Ivanhoe, OW twice however and have GE this week so will be able to address that question by Sat 6pm...
Maybe Im just trying to fire up the 3 main challengers for 4th so Banyule can drop another and help us out!!!!
Cheesr
Not directly linked Drifter, mainly follow Heidelberg across the swamp, although have some associates at the Bears and therefore take an interest in their form.
Didn't see the game on the weekend but am reliably informed Werribee are a class outfit and the benchmark for D2.
Whilst all teams have injuries, I believe Banyule had some critical outs both Drapac and Rothe missed and they haven't played with a genuine ruckman for 5 weeks.
Drapac and Rothe are big outs sure, but there are about 10+ missing from Werribee. Im sure they more than cancel each other out.
