Wouldn't have had anything to do with the drought interrupting everyone's preseason, would it? No week off in the middle of the season either.

Remember what happened when this situation occurred in the AFL (2000)? Essendon went 21-1.

Anyone watch the reserves games or got any comments on who will round out the top 4 of the dew kickers?
Kew seem to have miraculously sewn up top spot, with OW in second but still 3 teams fighting for 3rd and 4th spot.

Who gives a flying f$$%%^&ck, if your interested in the 2's just log onto Kew's home page, there all over it

I heard a rumour big Brendon Dover will take the senior coaching position at Kew next year. Any truth to this?
I used to drink with Brendon and his brother Paul "The Bear" Dover at a local pub in Richmond. One day a bloke came in and asked Brendon, 'How's the weather up there mate?'
Brendon replied by tipping a full beer on the blokes head and told him it was raining! Hilarious...

The pair of them should fit right in at Kew with that sense of humour. They can drink at the bar with quite possibly the worst goal umpire I have ever had the displeasure of seeing adjudicate.

Is there another brother Ben (Dover)?

I was watching Swinny on the weekend and saw that the ruckman did pretty well for himself, is that the same ruckman that played in the winning grand final, just wondering how he is travelling?

Let's gets back to this weeks matches gents:

Not wanting the sound like Mr Cigarette, but my tipping has been spot on in recent weeks (as I have failed to submit any!)

Crunch time for all clubs.

Kew are gone. D4 next season for certain.
Monash will most likely join them unless they can win 3 or maybe 4 of their last 6 games. Highly unlikely
Powerhouse are probably safe of the drop but would not want to get too cocky. Would need to win 5 of 6 to have a crack at finals.
West Brunswick have a tough draw and need to win two to dismiss any chance the Gryphs may have of staying up.
Latrobe need to win 4 to play finals, but frankly have been disappointing and quite lucky in many of their matches.
Swinburne have the best draw of any of the mid table clubs and should play finals if Higgins fires. R18 clash against Elst will be a cracker.
Elsternwick have a tough draw and will have to win at Latrobe or Westbourne to play finals. Will just miss.
Ivanhoe with four home games (3 against minnows) will play finals and may even steal the double chance if they can beat Haw in R.15.
Hawthorn are in poor form and four away games in the last six may see them slip to third or even 4th. Will play finals, but only just.
Old Westbourne will finish head and shoulders above second, the only interest being whether anyone can beat them before finals. Odds on for the flag, but funnier things have happened.

R.13

Ivanhoe to beat Monash by 36 (The hoes are far too physical for the Gryphs)
Elst to beat Latrobe by 16 (Do not rate the Trobers and the Wicks are far too proud a club to let this one slip)
Haw to defeat Westies by 5 (Huge danger game for the Hawks, but they need a win and will)
Swinny to beat The House by 19 (Higgins to fire against a sub-standard backline)
Westbourne to beat Kew by 164 (Might be a little too conservative here!)

Good luck to all

Sitting on 40/60 for the year, my tips this week are:

Ivanhoe to beat Monash by 12 points (in a slog)
Elsternwick to beat LaTrobe by 17 points (stepping up a gear)
Hawks to beat WB by 26 points (back on track)
Swinny to beat the House by 1 point (battle of the full-forwards)
OW to sneak home over Kew by 112 points (yawn)

Didn't mean to copy your tips Quasi, but I think you've got them right this week.

Good luck all, stay warm!

The 'House did OK at Hawthorn in the back line

Obviously recent form - i.e 7 day old form - counts for little . . .

Massively harsh call

Great summary Quasi!

The only concern out west are the injuries. Still rising. But the depth has proven to be more than capable of filling the gaps.

Hey Wheels - Big Footy policy states that there should only be one account per person. whls5 or reilly - "which one is it matey??"

We out west have had a large number of injuries, had 8 changes to senior team in last 2 weeks.

Opportunities for both teams, and great test of depth.

I would not write of powerhouse. From my point of view a very good team, with some very good players. My roughy to round out the 4.

Gee 8 changes in 2 weeks, try 8 changes a week for most of the year, and using 42 different players (seniors only) in the season to date. Then you can bang on about depth.

Bang on,

your banging on about 42 and we have had 36 (SENIORS ONLY)

just throwing it out, we have never complained once about injuries all year, yet only given the players coming in the confidence that they truely deserve their spot in the team. Which is very true.

HI ETE,

I see things have been cooking along nicely in the past three weeks .....not as much as the tan whilst O/S, but some interesting comments none the less.

OK - back into it.....

Ivanhoe to beat Monash by 2 points : Monash desperate for a win and look to have got a few players back - will WELLS play this week? - but what looks to be an injury hammered Ivanhoe will be just as desperate to keep finals action alive and maybe a top two up for grabs - OMR's mob....just.

E-wicks to beat LaTrobe by 10 points : I think the boys from Elsterniwick are the second best going around and are getting players back at the right time of year - but, the students will fight hard here and the inclusion of some recently 'teamless Under 19's' has injected some youthful passion back into this side - still a chance to make the four. Alas... E-wicks class to prevail.

WB to beat the Hawks by 16 points : WB going for last chance final four spot and playing at home to give the edge over a form slumping Hawks. Wider spaces of Brunny to suit them a tad better than the in and tight Hawker pad. This one will have a bit of feeling in it too ......gentlemen to your corners !!

Swinny to beat the House by 21 points : Swinney must have been in good form until last weeks 'awakening' against this years premiers to be. Good wins against Ivanhoe and the Hawks had them rolling along. I think they will get back on track this week and end The House's finals shot. matchup of the day .....The 'Wild Man' of the Razorbacks V EDDOOOOOO !!!!

OW to belt Kew by Lots and Lots : Kew are done and dusted and can look forward to D4 next year with a full list ( injuries have been savage) and a two's runners up in 2007 (OW to pinch that one too). OW just starting to see a few injuries - but covering enough to still get the wins.....and those players will be back for the finals when it matters. A sunny day out west could see 30 majors to the home side.

Top 4 - bloody tough to pick - how's this, with not idea really????

OW
E-wicks
Hoes
Hawks ( just )

Swinney
La Trobe
WB
The House
Monash
Kew
