I think I am still pretty happy with the one I selected a little while back Patty !!

Would fit Ludes in now from La trobe and the injured Horne to the bench.

FB Socic (PH) D Wood (IV) C Lever (OW)

HB C Brown (IV) L. Wells (Mon) J. Ridley (HW)

C Whiting (Mon) B. Irving (WB) P Chalmers (OW)

HF G Connors (OW) A Pace (IV) C Horne ( K)

FF S.Grace (E) Eddoooo!!! (PH) Higgoooo!!! (SW)

FOLL Collins (HW) B Connors (OW) C.Mahoney (E)

INTER D.Lauletta (HW) A. Jekka (OW) Baxter ( Mon ) T Ludeman (LT)

EM: Haysey (WB) , Taylor (PH), Smith (OW) Gianno (LT)

Probably short a Ruckman to help out Tower from the Hawks -( Fit Elsternwick Ruckman would be handy).

It's a pretty handy side! Would need some tall defenders to stop the FF line.

Williams from Kew was outstanding in the ruck against us 2 weeks ago. Very tall and agile. Would have the Powerhouse full back in the side as well.
Apart from that well picked!!

The bearded tattooed guy from Powerhouse was strong and had a good amount of spring on him as a ruckman.

Agreened that the pictured lad can play a bit. Changes at CHF every now and then when the other guy with limited hair has a run.

E-wicks big two right up there but have had limited playing time this year. I think one has been out nearly all year?

Dawson from Hawthorn another good type, as is the young 19 year old from Kew.

Hunter from the Hoes was a B&F winner for them last year - but has gone missing? is he still playing at Ivanhoe?

and lets not foget the big Leeta from the Gryphs - so many options.

Big Jack from E'Wick isn't a bad choice, he's nudging 7 foot but also mid thirties with a crook knee, and the other pup down that way isn't consistent enough. Leeta from the gryphs is a loose cannon. Hunter supposedly a cracker, but haven't seen much of him. Dawson from Hawthorn for mine, with the kid from Kew one to keep an eye on.

Patty O - what about the OW stock ?

Both our Ruckman have had solid years being amongst our best at times but i have seen other ruckman have the better of them in some games, so i would think a ruckman for the team of the year would have to be a dominant ruckman. We have an athletic ruckman, and then a body work ruckman but both struggle with the opposite type opponent to some degree. Work extremely effective together though :thumbsu:

yep, footy is the reason we read this thread

Sorry knackers i should have clarified to you that i don't mind general football generated conversation. It's the pointless posts where you just pipe up to put someone elses football orientated comments down that is my point

But i'm no authority so as you were

This weeks tips (didn't get time to see the Guru this week)

Ivanhoe to beat Hawthorn by 8 points (second spot on the line)
LaTrobe to beat the House by 21 points (two form teams, but on the open spaces at Bundoora, the home team to strong)
Swinny to beat WB by 15 points (Will Hayes be back for the magpies? If not swinny too strong)
Monash to beat Kew by 19 points (the Gryphs to jump to third last)
OW to beat Elsternwick by 47 points (unstoppable??)

Good luck all....

With Mr Cigarette now abroad, the rest of us mere mortals can fight out bragging rights in relation to tipping.

Should be a cracker round. I doubt any tipsters will get 5.

Hawthorn to beat Ivanhoe by 6 (Neither team is playing well and will be smashed by Latrobe or the House in the finals on current form. Rate Hawks a little more potent up forward)
Latrobe to beat the House in a thriller by 2 (Home ground the decisive factor. These two sides are arguably the second and third best in the comp at the minute)
West to beat Swinny by 11 (Nothing between these two sides. West need to win and the Gryphs are likely to pass them if they fail. Fair incentive)
Monash over Kew by 23 (The Gryphs are as good as any team out of the four and possibly one or two in it)
Westbourne by 34 over the Wicks (Elsternwick match up well against OW, but at home they are unbeatable)

Good luck to all

Quasi

Righto lads, plenty of talk on other threads about footy trips. So who's heading where on their footy trip this year? last year our team turned up to adelaide to be greated at the casino by 3 teams from our league. And with more teams in D3 the chances of seeing another team this year are probably likely.

Kew are going to Surfers in October. We could have gone this week but couldn't get flights.

Quality CrazyBear, at least you can laugh about it. And Hunchback from wherever you hide, Hawthorn more potent than Ivanhoe up forward..............ahhhh, i get it. I took the bait, you were just pulling our legs

Yeah Ive been to Adelaide for a footy trip. Its awesome, but a popular spot for footy trips.

We went to the races and there were literally about another 15 (all male) footy/sporting clubs there in their groups with their footy trip t-shirts on.

Even so it was still worth it, good place to party for a couple days then bugger off.

C'mon HSS, Quasi is right, Ivanhoe only managed 10 goals last week.....in the last quarter! I hear Mr Pace is becoming more fond of goals than souva's and dim sims, could this be true??

Good round of footy on the weekend, old westbourne is obviously the still best side in the comp. good to see la trobe have another good win as did hawthorn. however, rumour is that old westbourne have a few injuries and that the envelopes that they hand out after the game are no longer doing the job

perhaps some negotiations need to take place to ensure a strong finals series

hawthorn have been very quite about Lauletta little outburst last week against latrobe when he attacked a latrobe fan after getting dragged...should get a season thats disgraceful

No worse than what the tip-rat from Elsternwick did, so why should Hawthorn be punished when whls5 gets off scott-free?
