rc played two good quarters v monash. they're not a side you want to run into after two close losses! we will rebound and make a run for the finals. on the other hand, the ressies are still doing well and the cllubbies look like making the finals. we should be getting a few players back before the next match.

Agreed. I looked on bewildered on a couple of occasions even though we had won the free kick.

How did you pull up after saturday ruck? The bloke playing on you in the first half (skinny one) seemed to be running you off your feet.

Having been a senior player up until last season, i can definately sympathise with you all about the quality of umpiring and the directives that those in white must be getting!!

This year, however, i have only managed to play 3 games due to injury but it's been great playing Ressies footy with club umpires officiating!! Yeah, some of them may be biased, but God they let the play go on without pulling things up every time someone is touched!!

The way the senior comp is being umpired at the moment, it won't be long before we have some of the clubs adopting World Cup form and players taking dives in order to get players yellow and red carded!!

Whinging on here isn't going to change the way that the powers above work and make decisions, but there is no need to hide the frustration and one can only hope that the umpires at our level, albeit non trainers who are in it for the interest of remaining involved in footy for as long as they can (as well as the $$) can maintain some sort of logic and umpire the game the way it sould be umpired, without getting sucked in by crowds and the stupid, stupid, stupid direction that the AFL is setting for the rest of the country!!!

That's my rant!!

On another point, North Brunswick take on the might of Monash this weekend.

A must win for the Seniors who were within 4pts with a couple of minutes to play in Round 1 only to be beaten by 16pts. Different teams this time around but we will give it our best shot.

The Reserves game is for top spot! Although North are a game clear, Monash have the superior percentage. Makes for an interesting finish to the year seeing we have the bye in Round 18.

Good luck to all this weekend (except Monash because we need the wins).

You realy are a TOOL....How does Mr Osbourne feel about somebody from within the Gryphon realm constantly telling the rest of the competition that they dont stand a chance.......Or could it be that you are in fact Mr Osbourne???? For a club that declared it would go undefeated for the season you must be wondering whats happened, a loss and a couple of close encounters would have you second guessing you triumphant return to D3 I'd think Mr Osbourne?

I take it you are above an acknowledgement of some D4 posters R.M. Has the club sketched up any great motivational letters like last time our two clubs came across each other???? It was great reading.

Moansh v Nth.B - Monash to keep extending thier %%%, easy win by 12 goals +.
Chad v Sth.M - Sth.M need a convincing win, as %%% will play a part for finals positions, they will run away with a 15 goal win.
Mt.L v B.H.Nth - Should be a good contest.
P.Cook v Manny - I'm going to tip an upset here and go the Cookers by 4 points.
Swinny v E.Park - E.Park in great form but will meet a stuburn Swinburne this week. Swinny by 2 goals.
Rich.C with a much needed bye this week....Was that a sigh of relief I heard Bigwaz???

Re: D4 2010

44/55 progressive.

South Mornington vs Swinburne Uni - 44 points.
Richmond Central vs Monash Gryphons - 72 points.
Manningham vs North Brunswick - 6 points.
Eley Park vs Box Hill North - 6 points.

47/59 progressive.

Right on the money with the Monash tip and score last week. Big win by the Cobras which puts them back in contention. Does North Brunswick have a rotation poilcy going to make as many blokes available for the ressies finals? Considering the twos didn't win by a huge margin you wouldn't think so at this stage but with Monash and Mt Lilydale games coming up they might ponder it as they wont win those games anyway. You would think South Mornington and the Sharks are good enough to hold on for finals but that 5th spot is still up for grabs.

Monash Gryphons vs North Brunswick - 63 points. Nuguid to star and kick 4 goals.
Chadstone vs South Mornington - 84 points. Will and James Spencer to kick at least 12 goals between them.
Mt Lilydale vs Box Hill North - 54 points. Seems to be some bad blood between these two teams so expect a firey encounter at the bog hole. Will be looking intently at the tribunal section of the record next week. Evans(ML) too strong in defence and Penny(BHN) will struggle.
Point Cook vs Manningham Cobras - 28 points. I don't see this as much of a danger game for the Cobras. Point Cook haven't show much at all this year. Been a few weeks since McCallum has kicked a bag so I think he is due for another.
Swinburne Uni vs Eley Park - 22 points. Swinburne have slipped to obscurity. Where did Sam Thomas come from for the Sharks? New recruit or been injured? Either way it looks like he has put some focus up forward and should kick a few.

Round 12 Preview:

Strange old draw this week with only four fixtures…

Manningham over Nth by 14 Pts (Home ground advantage sways me on this one as these are two sides that are evenly matched on paper as well as in results. Their respective for and against are almost identical and hence the winner will most likely come from the team who wins the contested ball. The loser will be up against it for the remainder of the season, but I feel Ben Cookson can lead his men to a win).
Eley Park over Box Hill Nth by 16Pts (The corresponding fixture was won by less than a kick by the Demons and I expect a similar close contest, however, I think the Sharks are a reasonable side who should play finals and will be too good to drop this one. David Bennett to prove the difference).
Tigers over Razorbacks by 58Pts (The way Swinburne are playing, the margin could be far greater but one feels Sth may ease off once the game is won. The Tigers will show glimpses of the form that has them the biggest threat outside the big two and have the game in the bag early on. Grant Ryan will snag a few).
Gryphons over Snakes by 48Pts (Many thought this would be one of the marquis fixtures of the year back in March, but Centrals form has been so poor of late surely this can only go one way. Monash by plenty and Daniel Wills to be in fine form).

Round 12 Review

4/4 (46/59 Cumulative)

Round 12 was one that pretty much sealed the fates of the four losing sides. The Sharks were the most impressive victors with their 101 point drubbing of the Demons. This type of win truly sends a statement to the teams below them vying for 4th and 5th that are probably not good enough. Great games to Blake Sahlstrom and Sam Thomas set it up in the first half. The Cobras won the match of the day at Koonung, disposing of a dogged Nth Brunswick. I still feel there is very little between these two sides, but the Green & Golds draw is far tougher. Similar type of win at Mt Martha where the Razorbacks were able to trouble the Tigers for three quarters, but not able to sustain the pressure in the last as Scott Smith dominated in the middle. The Gryphons played well below their best, but still disposed of the Snakes by twelve goals. Richmond adopted a defensive game plan to mitigate early, but they are not going to win games whilst employing these tactics (especially against the top 2).

This medium is rife with bold predictions and I normally refrain from following suit. However, I will state this: The five is all but settled if The Cobras and Sharks win this weekend. I know many from Burnley will beg to differ due to their favourable draw, it’s just their percentage is so weak compared to those above. Richmond also have to beat both Manningham and Eley Park away from home to have a chance and I for one cannot see this happening.

Round 13 Preview:

Monash over Nth by 75 Pts (No one has got near the Gryphons at East Caulfield and don’t expect anything to change in this fixture. Sure Nth Brunswick will give their all but they will not be able to quell the twin targets of Daniel Wills and Laynton Allen up forward).
Mt Lilydale over Demons by 66 Pts (The Gryphons managed only nine goals at Mercy College, the Sharks five. So expect the somewhat inverse exponential sequence to continue with Box Hill struggling to boot more than 2 or 3 for the game. If this is proven correct, the Rams may win by far more than the predicted margin.).
Cobras over Dogs by 31 Pts (Many are saying this is a danger game for Manningham, but in truth, that is all in the mind, as Pt Cook have been largely disappointing for much of the year. The fact they are at home will keep them in the contest for at least a half, but there is too much at stake for the Cobras to allow this to slip).
Sharks over Razorbacks by 14 Pts (There is nothing on recent form to suggest this one will go the other way, but I have the sneaking suspicion that Eley Park will struggle to shake off their opponents as Swinburne were plucky against Sth. However, too much is on the line and the Sharks should prevail just).
Tigers over Synners by 85 Pts (It’s simply a case of picking a number between 50 and 150 for the margin over Chadstone each week. Could be any one of six Sth Mornington players to be leading goalkicker. I’ll take any Spencer at $2.20).

Good luck to all

Typical yobbo response. I haven't had the opportunity to meet Mr Osborne, not yet at least, and I don't recall claiming Monash would be undefeated. The My Lilydale game was close with the better team on the day winning. The other close encounters you refer to were victories for Monash. Good teams win even when they are not playing their best (or are in 2nd gear) I did say it was a clear 2 horse race and I haven't seen anything yet that would change my mind.

Too right. It wont be easy for the Snakes, but anything is possible, and what better way to enter a finals campaign than by winning 5 straight and knocking manningham outof the finals in the last round. :)

Of course, we'll have to beat PC first next weekend.

Monash Gryphons vs North Brunswick - 44 points. NB have dropped off after an impressive start and wont be up to monash's quick ball movement.

Chadstone vs South Mornington - 101 points. We need to keep winning to claim that double chance so hopefully a big win here for us
.
Mt Lilydale vs Box Hill North - 67 points. BHN are hard to gage but this game is way out of reach i think.

Point Cook vs Manningham Cobras - 24 points. Im hoping for a point cook win here but Manningham have hit some form so should get up here

Swinburne Uni vs Eley Park - 56 points. Eley fighting with us for third so hopefully another upset here by swinny but i cant see that accuring here.

RESERVES:
Monash in what should be a cracking reserves match
South by 100+
MTL
MANN
SWIN

Round 13 went pretty much to plan accept one major upset in Swinburne defeating Eley Park by 16 points. Swinburne along with Box Hill North still only sit two games out of finals contention. Box Hill North battled hard against Mt Lilydale and could probably walk away with some positives from an 8 goal loss out at the Rams ground, they play Chadstone next week and Swinburne have the bye, followed by Box Hill North hosting North Brunswick and Swinburne against Chadstone. Do not right of either of the two sides, with five rounds to play they will give it all to play finals or atleast help shape who does.

Was just having a look at the reserves results and noticed Mt Lilydale defeated Box Hill North 27 - 17.......In four quaters of footy thats pretty woeful, YES??? Is the Rams ground that bad at the minute???

Yes it was a terrible incident, put his head over the ball and got crunched.

Josh had to stay in hospital overnight. He is now in a neck brace and has to take at least two weeks off work. Going back for more scans this week, so we will know more about his condition after that. We all wish him well.

He has had the worst luck with injury over the last couple of years and now this.

Monash continue on their merry (not complacent) way. 2nds win avenged the only defeat in the first round and 1sts in a canter. Swinburne's win over Eley Park confirms my 2 horse race theory. Looking forward to the seniors Mt Lilydale rematch on the 31st. (2nds will be an ugly scoreline)
How did you fare over the weekend Sneako?

Bad day for serious injuries for the North Brunswick boys. Josh's incident was awful - he's a terrific young bloke with boat loads of talent and as secrets says - has had no luck. Hopefully - he is resting up well and his scans are all clear.

Also hoping Massie (broken leg) and Tommy (broken collarbone) are not in too much discomfort.

Thanks for the update secrets09 wasn't a great day injury wise for your boys by the sounds of things hope they all make a speedy recovery.

Massive game this week with Mannigham Cobras hosting South Mornington. Winner cements a spot in the finals...and maybe even a double chance.

Thoughts?
