They hate next year's draft. 7 of the top 18 players apparently are academy or F/S selections, and it's no where near as strong in terms of depth.

They're still not sure whether they're going to accept the deal - but it's trending that way.

Port have been fücked over by Paul Connors and the political feud between Gold Coast and Richmond.
So in other words port list management are a bunch on soft ***** then!

So would you prefer to piss off one of the biggest management groups in the game which will impact your ability to get their clients in the coming years? Or would you rather take a little less now to keep that bridge intact?
He should be encouraging Collingwood to pull their finger out and offer a reasonable deal for his client, rather than putting pressure on us to deal him for a loss. Player managers are the worst part of our game.

Oh ffs stop sugar coating this ****ing bunch of soft *****!

Any idea why Atkins?

Port are still trying to get an extra pick from Gold Coast for the Atkins salary dump. Getting the extra pick is the appeal - the player won't be playing outside of the Maggies.

I’m more concerned about the precedent this sets. We quite literally could not have more leverage to get a better than average return (2xAA at the peak of their powers, contracted for another 3 years, nominated a state not a club, publicly said happy to come back if a deal can’t be reached).

If we settle for unders in these circumstances, especially after we’ve publicly stated that any deal for Dan would have to be better than fair value, then why would any club bother paying fair value in future when we don’t have so many mitigating factors in our favour?

Taking an unders deal imo would be more detrimental to the club in BOTH the short and long term, than if we simply walk away and call Houston’s bluff about coming back to us next season and seeing out his contract with us.

WTF why are we always expected to be the reasonable club? What good has it done us?
Geelong don’t give a **** about pissing people off do they?

Hugely alarming if this is how the club views trades involving first round picks and AA players.

Yes I'd like to piss people off once in a while rather than bending over quicker than a cheap hooker & strengthening the biggest mollycoddled behemoth in the sport.
