Sounds great, hi Richmond we got a deal for you !Houston & Soldo to Richmond for pick 1
Dan’s manager was shopping him prior to the finals where the Dees were the only club that agreed to Port's terms.Sounds great, hi Richmond we got a deal for you !
Whoops, will editCool how we managed to get Tom Powell without North losing him. Have they got cloning technology down there?
Dan’s manager was shopping him prior to the finals where the Dees were the only club that agreed to Port's terms.
Port was asking for one low pick plus steaks knives or, two late first rounders in the teen etc: the Dees agreed on their pick five and the steak knives were not finalised. Anyway, it was enough to convince his manager it was doable, so Dan’s camp went public. And then, Petraca went tropo.
If North want Dan it will be predicated on their first rounder this year, if not, that's OK we all move on with no hard feelings.
Sounding a bit Kylie, Step back in time.Davies is talking a good fight, but I don't want them to give in for a mid-teens pick and future second rounder because we know Dan wanted to go home and we want to be seen as a club that helps players get where they want. It's bull$hit. Stand up for the club and hold both Dan and Soldo to their contracts if no-one offers enough. If teams want to come hard for them, then make them pony up. Show some bloody ruthlessness for a change.
The best thing about getting 2 firsts from Carlton is that it opens up our first rounders to target other trades.
Not so sure on that. Think Carlton are trying to push a few out the door to try and get the picks for this to happen.Dan won’t be going to Carlton.
Of course he can have a preference, and port will do whatever they can to work with Carlton to get our 2 first rounders. As soon as it’s not going to work for us though, preference goes out the window and he has a decision to make where it’s either go elsewhere or stay.how can Houston have a preference if he really wants to go home, you're contracted Dan, you can't go home unless Port is happy.

It would be all theatre. The deal was probably done in principle weeks ago. All of this is media fodder/click bait to keep the plebs tuned into the AFL media machine.Curious to know how much of this is “theatre” and how far apart port and Carlton actually are.
Carlton know how good Dan is and they consider themselves in the premiership window.
