The club won't take any further action? Against who - Swan? The guy who punched him? Or both?

If it really was an unprovoked attack then surely they would be taking further action against the guy who hit Swan. No way would a club just allow its players get punched in the mouth. Basically just saying "go on and punch our players in the mouth - they can't fight back - and we won't be placing charges when you do".

Im sure there is more to this story.

According to this they are not. I find that strange if a guy got randomly attacked and had enough damage to need to see a dentist and was bloodied and the police declared it non investigation worthy I'd like to know why?

AFL players are always the victim when it happens to them. Usually they are the antagonizer's in stories of incidents I've heard where they've got belted. Some of them get too big for their boots and going on Swans record I would not be surprised if this was the case this time.

Never seen a loud argument escalate further? Attempting to diffuse situations like this is being encouraged by both state and federal government. Also EVE is known for it's violent altercations and is one of Melbourne's 'hot spots', bingo nights are not.

While we dont know the circumstances yet as to what happened i dont know why players frequent nightclubs so often. I have seen it first hand where AFL players are provoked and baited and abused by heroes who have had 1 to many cans of courage. They are much better off staying at home and having a few quiet drinks with fellow team mates and friends etc in the comfort of their own home etc away from this BS that occurs so often.

I wonder the same thing every time these things happen.
You wonder whether it is worth the risk and hassles.

So if we go by all the people on here that seem to know what has gone on that there was about 1000 witnesses there. Yet no one posted about this on Saturday night or Sunday morning on Big Footy.

Seems a reasonable comment that all the people who witnessed it and post on bigfooty did not think it worthwhile to post about it until it appeared in the news.

I have mates who live in Geelong and see Johnson, Mackie, Scarlett and Chapman etc at a club every Saturday night!!! Wow, talk about not knowing anything!
