He might have been underwhelming to date certainly considering his draft position but at times he's shown more than enough elite AFL traits to think he's worth persevering with a while yet.
Given the reports (Scott Burns yesterday) that his fitness is now very good hence the shift to more midfield minutes I'd be holding off on that kind of talk at least one more season.

I don’t disagree with that and I’m not suggesting delisting. Just frustrated that yet another first round pick of ours is not even in the best 22 let alone making an impact.

Whilst Tex’s renaissance has been a feel good story, at what cost is it coming to our young forwards? If we’d made the hard call at the end of last year and sent Tex off in to the sunset, would Fog have played the first 2 games? Would Fog have kicked a couple of confidence boosting bags with these new seemingly Forward friendly rule changes?

Let’s face it, Tex isn’t going to be around when we are next challenging, will Fog? Now I’m not saying it was the right or wrong call on Tex it’s just an interesting thought experiment.
Based on what he did in the pre-season games, no Fog wouldn't have done any of that.

Fog isn't competing against Tex. He's competing against Billy, Berg, and TT. The fact that Billy is being selected ahead of him speaks volumes.

Hopefully these midfield minutes will add another string to his bow, and teach him to up his workrate to an AFL level. If he can do that, then he may, just maybe, have a future at the AFL level. If he can't, he'll disappear into the sunset as one of many players who were never able to fulfill the potential they showed as juniors.

I’d push back on him competing for a spot with Frampton, TT and Berg, we need a chop out ruck, Fog can’t do that, we will always play one of those other guys to spell ROB.

And sure he didn’t kick in the selection door in the preseason but Tex played both those games as well. What if Fog knew that lead out forward role was his, would he of taken more ownership of it in the preseason?

If you mean that Fog is not replacing Tex, then I agree. However, in terms of like-for-like roles, then Tex/Fog forms one axis and Billy, Berg, and TT form another, IMO. So, if Fog comes into the side, while he might physically replace any of the four, he can only replace the Tex role, as I see it, without creating a completely new structure, one that we rejected after the pre-season.

It's probably a terminology thing, as I agree with the gist of your post.

Humm... I wonder if you're putting the cart before the horse! I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm just wondering how you arrived at that decision. Was it because you have read it here, somewhere?
Hmmm... maybe it’s what I have observed as an adult with the capability of drawing a conclusion from what I have witnessed over a period of time. But great attempt to undermine me nonetheles. Keep up the good work.

On the Crows website Fog is listed as a Key Defender...

I don't think I was trying to undermine you. I can understand it is your opinion and you're entitled to it. But having an opinion without justification can be challenged. My opinion may very well be that if Lynch doesn't play well, the team suffers. But I don't know how to justify the opinion so I did not make it.

Im not too concerned about Fog at this point. Perhaps in another 40 games if he hasnt lifted his disposal count then theres reason to worry. One thing I see is that Fog can have more scoreboard impact in 8 to 11 touches per game than what other forwards can have with 11 to 14 touches a game. 11 to 14 happens to be what a lot of the best forwards averaged per game at Fogs age.

He has kicked 30 goals 5. His accuracy is unbelievable. Should reach 50 career goals this season and watch the media start talking about his golden boot.

Tex, Fogarty, Tilthrope.

Two are the future of our forward line, one can give them support in establishing themselves.

It's so bloody obvious.
Exactly... just do it AFC... starting this week.

Nah mate you see it's in the laws of the AFL that the Adelaide Crows always have to play at least 1 of 2 200cm forwards that cannot mark.
