Davis back for the Grand Final.

Winty Nomination right there.

Davis will fire.

Winty awards are for opposition fans.

While i'm not totally unhappy with Davis's selection there is definitely a reason to feel uneasy about it. I posted a thread a while ago about Davis's stats in finals and they were pretty ordinary. That combined with the fact that outside his defensive pressure he hasn't really impacted games this year makes it reasonable to think that he is unlikely to start having one in a Grand Final. I'm hopeful but by no means confident that he will.

Hope he has a ripper. Cops alot of flak - from you guys is ok but opposition supporters has me buggered because he's not a showboat. Good luck - enjoy the day.

I hate the way Collingwood supporters have treated Leon Davis over the years, and it seems to be continuing in spades, on the eve of the most important match of his career, and one of the most important in our great clubs history.

I wish Leon well, simply because he has been named in the final 22, and for all I know he is playing on Saturday.

I support the Collingwood Football CLUB, and each week they send 22 PLAYERS out to the ground, and regardless of my personal feelings, once that ball is bounced, I will support them to the hills.

I implore all of you to do the same.

I find it utterly disgusting that 2 days out from a premiership decider, some are having personal shots at Leon, and actually hoping he performs badly.

By all means, state you are not happy at his selection, but don't lay it on Leon, and don't wish he plays badly, because if he does, there's every chance we may lose, and it reflects poorly on any of you that you wish any of our players ill fortune on the day.

I will support the 22 that run out, and I implore you to do the same, OR SIMPLY, **** OFF.

/end rant (second one of the day).

Yeah, hope he plays a blinder. I am much less confident that he'll be a strong competitor than Goldsack, but if he plays I would love him to correct what has been a blemish on his record and in the process help the club win a flag. It is nice that if/when we win, two great servants of the club in Presti and Davis will be there.

^^^^^^^^ that^^^^^^^^^^lol oops the one above that

go pies

We'll all be supporting COLLINGWOOD.

But those of us that care, understand that Leon in FINALS, hampers the side more than he helps.

We need 22 contributors. Not 21 contributors and a lump. I've had no issue with Leon over the journey during H&A.

I have always been one to defend him through the early part of this decade. Even early on in finals when he was still young, I defended him because of his age, home sickness etc etc.

But enough is enough now. If he's not going to perform in 10 YEARS of finals. I really don't know what makes anyone think he'll perform tomorrow. Aside from some romantic notion.

But romantic notions are the same straws St.Kilda backers are grasping for for why they can win on Saturday. Doesn't usually bode well when that's what people count on.

The inclusion of Presti is ok because he will play on Kosi.....Presti is our stopper Reid will take reiwoldt with maxy helping out both as the spare defender.

Plus with presti back maxy knows presti has his back......The experience he wouldn't get with nathan brown who is still too young.
Brown will play in a few grand finals don;t worry,He ios our future full back.

The inclusion of leon is smart cause he has the x factor,He takes a good defender he tackles hard and he can turn a game on his head.Stops us from being too top heavy up forward, and Leon whether you like him or not
has the experience. This is his chance to prove the detractors wrong.
Also he plays well aginst the saints.

Kick your three goals leon keep that forward pressure on and you would have done your job.He is one of 10 goal kickers.

If left unattended or taken too lightly he will destroy the saints singlehandedly.

Im backing him for under 5 touches, will be another Leon September Special

me too.he has constantly let us down.year after year without fail

doesnt seem to give a **** either

Winty Nomination right there.

the truth hurts.he has never had a big game when we have needed him to.I gave up on him ages ago

anything he can do on Saturday will be a very welcome surprise

nothing really left to say.he went missing for 99% of the game. You would love to see him fire and make people eat their words but Leon simply is not cut out for finals.he consistently lets down the club when we need him the most Prefer to see Tarks get a run next week instead as you know he will it give it everything

I don't like to bag our own, but I haven't seen a pies player casually walk around whilst the ball is only 10 meters away and look so disinterested since the days of Ben Kinnear.

What is wrong with Leon? Why can't he move those legs of his?
I attended the wed/fri training sessions and was genuinely excited about him proving the doubters wrong as he was looking fresh and a man on a mission- but come on, you can't bring that unenthusiastic game to a grand final.

Why can't we bring in Medhurst, he has been training well. Sure he had a bad first game back against the Dons, but when you consider the defensive games both played- I'd take Medders in a heartbeat. He provides options with great lead ups, strong overhead and good hands under pressure. Not to mention he'd bring so much more liveliness and a greater sense of belief to the team.

It's gotten to the point where all you can do is just laugh and sigh. You read in the media, every single time "I'm glad Micks given me a chance and I'm looking forward to proving my doubters wrong..." blah blah. Then game time comes around and he shuffles around the forward 50 with no intent or urgency, great stuff.

Let's see Goldsack give it a crack next week!

One straight swap, that's it.
Goldy should have played and not 'CHOKER' leon davis. 3 grandfinals and couldnt perform AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yesterday. MM-surely you have to be resigned to the fact he carnt handle it.........for f@#k sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont think this time it's a case of him not handling the pressures of a grand final.. or even last year for finals for that matter

last year his form was ordinary for a month leading into the finals, its just that once he was on the big stage it was exposed and highlighted for all to see.

and his form this year has been ordinary most of the season. he's been very lucky to keep his spot for most of the season, and lucky to play the grand final. he should thank his lucky stars that brad dick ain't healthy and that medhurst is also struggling.

that said, he's had his chance, and in my opinion he's done and dusted. happy to go with medhurst this time around.
