I thought it was pathetic as well.

It's really unprofessional IMV.
I love how Brisbane supporters think their club is professionally run now.
Their CEO was effectively sacked and let go by Carlton 6 months ago.
As a Collingwood member who has seen Greg Swann operate first hand, I can offer my advice now. As a football admin he makes a very good chartered accountant.

Brisbane need to be careful here.
You can argue points for both sides.
But let's start with value & Paul Connors - who is a Collingwood member. Has been since he was a 16 year student at Xavier and his cousin was running around for the Pies.
He has been in the game for years, he is an experienced operator.
Like most in the industry, he would rightfully question how serious Brisbane were of getting Beams.
He would rightfully ask Brisbane, you are offering my client $800 per year.
That makes my client your highest paid player at Brisbane.
Yet you aren't prepared to really and seriously move my client there by not offering adequate trade compensation.
What makes you certain he will want to play there in 12 months if you weren't that serious of moving him there in the first place?

Connors, who is "an experienced operator", has said Beams is being offered nothing near $800k... and yet apparently he's using that as a basis for a whole further argument? Good man, good man.

So you believe people who are paid to make up crap instead of manager?

No, I believe people who have a direct line to the Westpac Centre.
The father issue is such a tiny component of his move.

Do people honestly think beams is worth pick 5 AND redden. Waaaay overs. Redden is a gun

Pick 25 and redden is closer to the mark.

Brisbane cannot offer Redden because he is part of:

Luke Ball :)

Ball refused medicals after having obvious injury problems and put a huge 2 year price on his head and played for minimum in his 3rd year. Beams is a durable gun who will get taken by any club in the draft no matter the amount he puts on himself. There are plenty of clubs paying under the cap who could afford him even at $1 Million a year.

Would not get to Brisbane in the draft. If Leppa is too 'tough and stonk' to do a deal this year then we'll just be enjoying this dance again next year.

Fact. Beams is contracted
Fact. He is not a free agent next year
Fact. Brisbane cant trade for him next year as they are committed to academy player with first pick. Keays.
Fact. He wont get to brisbane's second pick in national draft
Fact. No way melbourne or st kilda would overlook him in the psd next year

If lions want him they must give up something. Its a sellers market and they cant dictate the price.

He can walk to the national draft and put a 1 mill 1 year contract on his head. Threaten to walk the following year if a club other than Brisbane picks him up.....no team is foing to waste a top 5 pick on a flight risk. Once he arrives at Brisbane he extends his contract

Bonus points if you Photoshop on the players' faces.
That's a lot of work as he's going to need a poster with 35+ people on it though given that everyone bar the crap players already or about to be delisted are considered better than Beams and untouchable...

you will end up with around pick 10....if compensation is still around

are two birds in the hand worth one possible bird in the bush....pies will take the two picks,....surely

The best Idea for beams is to sign an extension at collingwood that takes him up to the end of 2016 where he is a free agent and he can go to wherever he wants. Brisbane would be on the cusp of playing finals again and challenging if all their good kids keep developing.

Redden/Mayes/Aish/Zorko. Easy.

If we don't get it done this year, which looks possible - then we get him next year.

Probably not as cheap as what many of our posters think, more likely for whatever our first round pick will be next year, but with no sweeteners.

Which hopefully is closer to 10 than 1, but in all likelihood - it will be a single figure pick.

So do think we give up Keays for Beams next year or do you think Aish will go to Adelaide
