Brisbane are a shambles really. They spend 6 months luring Beams over then when the time comes to actually secure him they decide to play silly buggers at the trade table.
Yep, it was all us.

If we don't get it done this year, which looks possible - then we get him next year.
Probably not as cheap as what many of our posters think, more likely for whatever our first round pick will be next year, but with no sweeteners.
Which hopefully is closer to 10 than 1, but in all likelihood - it will be a single figure pick.
Don't think its really related mate.
The noise from all parties involved indicate it will be a separate deal.
LOL! Have you considered that Collingwood is being unreasonable in their demands?
Levi will be dependent on what we get for Harry
Beams has nothing to do with levi

I thought North wanted more than your 2nd rounder- and you're not going to get that from Melbourne either.Don't think its really related mate.

In who's eyes is pick 5 and 25 not enough? Collingwood and it's supporters is the answer to that question.Nope. For a player of Beams quality we're actually being very reasonable. If you're trying to lure contracted players everyone knows that you need to make a decent offer because the only way to secure your guy is by going through the club he's contracted to. If Brisbane didn't want to lose any of their good players (of which they have precious little of to offer anyway) then they should have ensured they did have something of worth to us. Thinking pick 5 and 25 would cut it was just idiocy and I refuse to believe a professional AFL recruting team would've thought that adequate at any point.
I hope so, because he has made his bed, time to lay in it!Will Collingwood be willing to offer Levi the same amount of money if Beams stays?

5 and 25 for one player is fair.

And we wouldn't be asking for 5 and 25 for any of our mids LOL!Beams would be your best mid.
He is a better performed mid than anyone on your list.

Not biased at all. Just typical overrating of players, pick 5 and 25 is more than fair. That is just anti-Collingwood bias. Beams will probably be the greatest player to come out of the 2008 draft. Definitely worth pick 5 and a established player for mine.
Sounds like Brisbane have said here's what's on offer, don't like it then piss off!Sounds as if Collingwood may have asked for 5, 21 and 25 and a no deal from Brisbane.
Only knock I'd have on him is that he has never copped a tag ever. Totally unknown whether he can handle one as of yet.
