Let's clear a few things up.
Beams is not going to sit out next year. If he was that desperate to spend time with his dad that he would sit out a year of football to live in QLD with his dad, why wouldn't he just be open to a trade to Gold Coast? It's clearly because Gold Coast can only pay him half what Brisbane can.
And lets stop with the whole "you're such a terrible club for not letting Beams live with his dying father". The club has to look after its own best interests whilst trying to do the best by Dayne. Dayne, on the other hand, only has to worry about his own priorities. If he wants to live in QLD close to his dad, why would he not be open to playing for less at Gold Coast if it allows him to spend more time with his "dying" dad as everyone likes to put it. Why is Collingwood being made to look like the bad guys if Dayne refuses to take a paycut and prioritises $$ over being able to move and live near his dad?
