they might have been a better chance with this guy too if GWS thought there was a massive draft bounty coming during the season..and remember half way through the year carlton were bottom and pick 1 was in play

They probably will get Martin, we don't know the machinations but Melbourne may not be able to afford $700k p.a., same way Tippett found his way to Sydney.
A bit harsh on Carlton, we can't resist the feeling of Schadenfreude after the banter of the past 12 months, we were so sure of a good season, they thought we might be shite, which we were, but they also thought they wouldn't need the high pick, which they probably did to extract Papley. I think at the end of the day pick 4 is not worth Papley, and pick 9 not either. They'll do alright at the end of season.
