Degrassi was awesome. I had to rewind that scene with Wheel's in the Doggy's jumper, I almost fell off my chair.

Do you guys remember when the chubby kid, Stephanies brother, was having problems with wet dreams, and the little chinese kid (Data i think his nickname was) was trying to help him.

lol awesome, good times, the new series is nowhere near as good.

The new series is absolute garbage compared to the what I grew up watching, but I guess the world has changed and things have to be sensored.

Don't know whether mentioned before but I found this on wikipedia:

In one episode, Wheels can be clearly seen wearing a Footscray Bulldogs jumper. What is unusual is that the sport, Australian rules football and its competition, the VFL, at the time would have been unknown in Canada. Although the VFL staged several exhibition matches that year, the Bulldogs were not involved and were perhaps the least successful and supported teams in the league. The appearance could possibly be put down to a wardrobe error, but how the jumper appeared there in the first place is a mystery.

Degrassi Junior High...and the episode where Wheels is seen wearing a FOOTSCRAY jumper...

*How did he get hold of this jumper in Canada in 1987?

*Did he realise what he was wearing was a VFL Footscray jumper from Australia?

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Wheels in a Footscray jumper.

degrassi was BRILLIANT, one of my all time fave shows as a youngster

did you know all these characters came back as adults in degrassi: the next generation?

joey runs an unsuccessful car dealership, snake gets cancer and marries spike, and caitlin is a well known journalist

and get this, i shit you not, kevin smith guest stars as himself, in canada shooting a jay and silent bob movie, and he scores with caitlin. in fact he ends up running off with her.

how many people you know got to romance a fictional character that they had a crush on as a kid?

kevin smith is the only one.

Great show Degrassi, watched it then and watched it recently.

The original Junior High episodes ones were better than the High school ones.

Cant think of any Aussie series that can compare, though I didnt mind Round the Twist as a youngster.

Thats it. Excellent show. One of my favourite episoides was when a kid came in with a gun and held them all hostage. I think it was a 2 parter.

I've got a theory about this Footscray jumper. Metal Mickey another Canadian show from the '80s also had a character that once wore a Footscray jumper.


Somewhere, for some strange reason in Canada, a television production company have a props container with a Footscray jumper in it.

Like all good theories, this one has a hole or two to be patched over. I can't find England anywhere on my map of Canada. Metal Mickey was made by London Weekend Television for ITV in Britain.
