Know Yeoy's cousin in Melbourne he barracks for the demons ! Chance he was going to the dee's but spewing for the lions he is going to the eagles !!

Ok need to clarify this pigeon English post.:D

Yeo barracked for the Dees or his cousin does?

There was a chance he would go to the Dees? Why wouldn't he still go there?

Yeo is spewing at the Lions! Got that!

And he wants to go to the Eagles?

Cheers:thumbsu:

Brown is only a good shutdown defender on big slow power forwards Any fwd with pace and he is caught out !
Who takes CHF ? If they have pace emac , brown has zero closing speed and is only good in 1on1 battles , glass is more than capable of locking down leaving schofield as third man rebounding defender!
Schofield is more than good at third tall , did you not watch 2011 and 2012 his intercept marking and drive was surperb . Sure he got caught on occasion but small price to pay for taking the game on ! He was an 80 meter player how many of those do we have in defence ! Not brown
We can't play all our tall defenders in the back line and brown is the one with the least to offer !
Funny how brown playing all year made our rock solid backline very vulnerable !
Your talking about glass role in the backline and not impacting as many contests ! He didn't have to impact as many contests when schofield was playing instead of brown , so brown makes glasses job harder ?
There is a role for brown when match ups against opposition teams allow but he is not in our best back 6 and shouldn't be gifted games because he is a sook at the detriment of the team !

He gets the job on Buddy every time we play them and seems to keep up pretty well. Pace is not an issue of his.
Ah yes, it was Brown that made our "rock solid defence" very vulnerable, despite being a good shutdown defender. It wasn't the failings of our midfield or the absence of Hurn and Waters, no, it was all Brown! You seem to be forgetting how awful Schofield's form was down back this season- but of course Brown was just being "gifted games for being a sook". Clueless.
Glass is better as our third tall defender, and is much more valuable in that role than he is as a shutdown defender, which he is increasingly unable to do. Brown allows him to play that role.
If Schofield wants to change that he should, you know, play well and not average 11-13 disposals per game as a rebounding specialist.

Yeah, WTF happened to schoey this year?

While I somewhat agree with most of this, we leaked a lot more easy goals this year compared to last. Hurn and glass used to combine so well together on the last line. Hurn - injured. Glass - decent, but getting on.

Hopefully emac and Hurn can strike up the same sort of partnership.

And I think our midfield, considering injuries, was a bit better this year compared to the second half of last year, when we got clearance butt ****ed on a regular basis.

While I agree with the gist of what you are saying but the last time we played hawks brown was on roughie which I think was a huge error on our part should have been Mckenzie as roughie was in the most damaging form and brown struggled a bit. Franklin isn't great over head roughie is and Mckenzie being the better spoiler should have gone to him

Can we at least try to be polite to other posters who post non offensive stuff here please?
I meant deciphering toddler is a skill I have (as well as deciphering BF posts). It wasn't meant to be offensive, and considering some of the stuff that gets posted here, was pretty tame even if I had meant to be offensive!

I see what you are getting at. Just shits me when someone goes to another board to post, and they cop flak for it if it is harmless.
I just would like our board to be a very friendly one. :)

Ha ha E mac played on buddy last time and the time before because he has the pace to keep up with him and brown played on roughy and had something like 5 goals kicked on him ! You seriously know jack

Keep back-peddling and arguing pedantic points. Substance is clearly beyond you.
Brown has played on Buddy much more than he has played on Roughead. Probably the best lock-down job of his career was on Buddy in round 23 last year, and he was doing a similarly good job on Buddy the previous year before he came off with a thumb injury. As eagles_4_life pointed out, switching the usual matchups last time was a mistake.

Round 23 last year buddy kick 4 goals on brown in the first quater and we never recovered ! Wow talk about locking down , like a vice ! You say this was his best game ! No wonder they didn't play him on buddy this year then roughy flogged him as the alternate match up ! You say I'm back peddling ! Get your head out of the sand ! If proving your examples of brown being a good lockdown defender are false and he got flogged is back peddling then you still know jack !

What was it?

A status + a shared blog post from his girlfriend that was copping a bit of flak in this thread.

Far enough off topic as it is! Back OT from now on.

A bit of Hurn/Glass brilliance.

New coach expressing strong desire to keep them. Things could change very quickly.

I think the players would have been aware that any coach that came in would want to keep them. The old coach wanted to keep them, the club wants to keep them, they knew a new coach was coming and they still wanted to leave.

Not sure if serious. They were uncertain as to who the new coach may have been. Hell, if it was Neil Craig, Brown or Black would probably not have played on next year. We'll wait and see what kind of an influence Justin has on the playing group.

Yeo is gawn.

I seem to recall at least 2, maybe 3 of those Buddy goals being kicked on Glass when Brown was off the ground getting something attended to by the medicos.

Once Brown came back and sat on him, he gave Buddy very little to work with.

Pops trippin man, Yeo know i wouldn't trip
